Bear kills militants in Kashmir
I wasn't sure if to post this here or in the Weird section, but don't think that this is as much weird as just a long shot.A bear killed two militants after discovering them in its den in Indian-administered Kashmir, police say.
Two other militants escaped, one of them badly wounded, after the attack in Kulgam district, south of Srinagar.
The militants were armed with AK-46s but were taken by surprise - police found the remains of pudding they had made to eat when the bear attacked.
It is thought to be the first such incident since Muslim separatists took up arms against Indian rule in 1989.
So basically the fact that since guns had to be handed to the officials, the wild animals have been able to flourish and breed more and their numbers have started to increase. It's almost like an unintended anti-insurgency strategy, making the wilderness less safe to hide in. Ok, so the tally so far is 2 dead and 2 wounded in several several years, so maybe not the most effective strategy...
