Clinton faces Pakistani ire over drone attacks

Pakistanis still upset about drone attacks, apparently; gave Hil an earful.

    FULL STORY

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton came face-to-face Friday with Pakistani anger over U.S. aerial drone attacks in tribal areas along the Afghan border, a strategy that U.S. officials say has succeeded in killing key terrorist leaders.

In a series of public appearances on the final day of a three-day visit marked by blunt talk, Clinton refused to discuss the subject, which involves highly classified CIA operations. She would say only that "there is a war going on," and the Obama administration is committed to helping Pakistan defeat the insurgents and terrorists who threaten the stability of a nuclear-armed nation.

Clinton said she could not comment on "any particular tactic or technology" used in the war against extremist groups in the area.

The use of Predator drone aircraft, armed with guided missiles, is credited by U.S. officials with eliminating a growing number of senior terrorist group leaders this year who had used the tribal lands of Pakistan as a haven beyond the reach of U.S. ground forces in Afghanistan.
The Paks deserve some credit for stepping up against AQ/T-Ban in recent months, but this is more classic complaining from a government that not only didn't help us for so many years w/AFG, but flat-out was implicit for a long time and still maybe (ISI).

We need the drone attacks b/c we can't put troops full-fledged into PAK, and if the PAKs won't do the TGTing...gotta be the drones.

Appears someone is getting kickbacks to complain about this. Why else?
"He who does not think himself worth saving from poverty and ignorance by his own efforts, will hardly be thought worth the efforts of anybody else." -- Frederick Douglass, Self-Made Men (1872)
"Fly-over" country voted, and The Donald is now POTUS.

This is a Middle East thing, culturally.

Classic debating tactics: Deny everything, make counteraccusations.

The Paks have never and will never take onus for this.
