The rat has survived the plague, flu, and Obama administration, you are correct.

Haha - H1N1 is somewhat like the chickenpox in the way that most people get it once and, if their bought with the illness was severe enough, they have an immunity to it.

My husband didn't get it this year - he contracted it in the 70's when it went around. Nor did my 2nd son eventhough the brother that he rooms with contracted it first.

Some people just have chisseled immune systems against this thing.

It has happened before, but there is nothing to compare it to now.

Well, I reckon they can disregard those of us under Obama's 'national emergency' banner.

Haven't been sick in many, many years and almost feel the same as you. But don't want to jinx anything by saying it.

Swine flu = National emergency called by Obama in the height of health care debate.

BTW, I think those are Tool Lyrics, I've got a child rock star, fairly sizzling guitar player, he and 'band' play a lot of Tool, I actually took them to the concert a few years ago and I enjoyed it, the drummer is freak good, and the bass player....I've rarely heard better, they are strong.

Current song being learned in the living room......called "The Pot". Heard it?

The house windows rumble when he simply turns the amps on, before the first chord is riffed. They've got mics on the drum set! The bass player is a girl....and she sings.

Who are you to wave your finger you must have been out your head....

...eyeballs deep in muddy water you practically raised the dead...rob the grave to slow the cradle then turn the evidence down...soap box house of cards and glass so don't be tossin your stones around....you must have high........you musta been.....

or something close, I can hear this in my sleep.

What steady and effective leadership, who does this?
People are still being tested for the swine flu, but it is being done by the private sector instead of government. I know this for fact because my test came back today. I had H1N1. My doctor told me that my case was reported to the CDC.

Want to know what's funny? Obama certainly is not a Conservative, but it really cracks me up that there are a lot of people calling themselves Conservative, who bitch about Obama, even when his administration does something that Conservatives are supposed to support, namely, allowing the private sector to do something instead of the government doing it. You just can't chalk it up to ideology. These people genuinely hate Obama because of who he is, and because he as a D instead of an R next to his name. Otherwise, they would still be bitching about Obama's lack of Conservatism, but at least say that the government has done the right thing here. I can also tell you this. If it was a Republican administration having the government do it instead of the private sector, you would be hearing nothing but praises from them. Such is that animal known as partisan hackery.

    Re: Who has the flu?

My sister claims to have had it, but she's on the other side of the country so I don't know how severe it was for her. I don't know anyone here that's had it yet. Yeah, the media hype is probably uncalled for. Then again, I'll gladly take a shot if it prevents something even as minor as a cold. I'm not worried for my life, but I don't like being sick.

So I'll get the vaccine when it's available. I'll wait til all the "priority" people have had a chance to get it first.

I'm asking why the government wouldn't be testing for it given Obama has declared H1N1 a national emergency.

allowing the private sector to do something instead of the government doing it.
So....Obama is "allowing" the "private sector" to test on it's own? I don't understand. You're saying your doctor just diagnosed you with H1N1...he wouldn't be doing this testing on his own anyway?(I'll assume he or she is your private doctor) That it's only the government "allowing" him to do so that's he's tested you and thus informed you of your positive status? Thus allowing you to take precautions at your home, with your family, with your friends, with your coworkers, with your church or community. Wouldn't your doctor or mine be best served by testing for this on his own rather than being "allowed" and isn't it clear why the government should test as well given all doctors aren't as good as yours?

Your doctor may be an exception, some doctors might not test for the virus as there is no cure, the flu must run its course. Would it not be in the best interest for Obama...if the government is indeed declaring an emergency...to test for the virus...thus being able to protect children? I mean, it's obvious they cannot get a vaccine out in adequate numbers! Wouldn't you want all health care workers tested at least?

You just can't chalk it up to ideology.
    Racism?

These people genuinely hate Obama because of who he is, and because he as a D instead of an R next to his name. Otherwise, they would still be bitching about Obama's lack of Conservatism, but at least say that the government has done the right thing here.
We support the CDC testing for many diseases and tracking them as well, why would we see it any differently here? We understand...as conservatives..that government has a role in defending us against transmittable diseases, we've funded the CDC and seen a reason for its existence for some time. I don't understand your confusion here and then...can I turn it around on you? Can I claim this argument of yours must as well transcend indeological differences. Shouldn't you....support a government test here if Obama is calling it a national emergency? Indeed, where is your outrage should you believe Obama that this is a national emergency and he's not testing for the disease? Yeah....it probably will become a national emergency given little testing is going on, thus allowing schools, workplaces, public transportation, chruches, shopping centers or malls to continue spreading the virus, why on earth wouldn't you even offer free testing in disadvantaged areas?

I can also tell you this. If it was a Republican administration having the government do it instead of the private sector, you would be hearing nothing but praises from them. Such is that animal known as partisan hackery.
And I can tell you this. The real partisan hackery is declaring this virus a national emergency in the middle of a debate on health care to begin with. Two, where is the outrage that not enough vaccines are available? Three, why aren't "government should do more" types upset at the government testing absence on H1N1? Finally, why would anyone expect a Republican to get upset about CDC testing when the CDC tests for hundreds of diseases with our full support?

    Good grief.
