Please back what you're saying here, you're claiming if you have the flu......it's the swine flu? Where do you get these stats?

Indeed. Why waste resources. Why would you want to track this disease....test students as they're in school with like....thousands of other students. I mean if it's deadly....and Obama has called a national emergency....even though the common flu kills 40,000 Americans a year, indeed, why test?

And why not use this philosophy on other diseases as well. Aids, skin cancers, why test for any of this, why would we want to know demographics, where the disease is most easily spread.

Liblady, I can't see you position here, are you saying by testing, finding out demographics, looking for tell tale signs...is a wasted resource.

Please tell me why we'd be declaring a national emergency for a virus we don't even test for?

    I thought the same thing!!

Until, one week, all 6 of us came down horribly sick and I drug all of us to the Dr several times and, tada!!! H1N1 Figures - and I was adamate, before we were sick, that us, out in this tiny little town, were never going ot get the stupid thing.
I accused people of people driven by fear and paranoia - and then I found myself dosing the kids with countless bottles of antibiotics to battle infections that they had developed.

It took me a month to recover and feel "well" and the kids missed over a week of school - it sucked.

I wish not to go through that again.

I'm actually quite thankful that all we had were mild infections and nothing more severe.

I don't think H1N1 is all that deadly, not unless your health is already compromised with some other issue, like asthma or something. Regular healthy folks are just fine and should have nothing to worry about from it.

That's it in a nutshell. The regular flu will also kill anyone that has serious health problems, and it does, 36,000 deaths a year approximately in the U.S.

Swine flu deaths have that kind of number? No

Not all swine flu = normal flu.
All normal flu = swine flu.

Normal flu= normal flu and 40,000 deaths in the US a year.
Swine flu = National emergency called by Obama in the height of health care debate.

BTW, I think those are Tool Lyrics, I've got a child rock star, fairly sizzling guitar player, he and 'band' play a lot of Tool, I actually took them to the concert a few years ago and I enjoyed it, the drummer is freak good, and the bass player....I've rarely heard better, they are strong.

Current song being learned in the living room......called "The Pot". Heard it?

    Re: Who has the flu?

I've been exposed to the flu every single year. I can't remember the last time I caught it. Never caught the bird flu, haven't caught the swine flu yet, or the monkey flue or the rabbit flu or the dragon flu. Something tells me that even if the swine flu were a legitimate medical emergency, I'd be perfectly fine and laughing while the rest of you bastards were dropping like flies.
