At 500mph+ 150 comes up pretty quick.
    Thank you

That answer to this issue has got to be one of the worst analogies I have ever heard. Don't take that personally it's not you it's the post that your auto response software wrote for you.
I do not recall the Viet Cong asking me if I was a natural born or Naturalized American before they shot at me, they just shot at all of us f107HyperSabr

I'm not one to begrudge a skilled employee their pay, but $140k =/= minimum wage.

Exactly. It seemed pretty obvious to me.

The pilots of the jetliner that recently flew past its destination by about 150 miles have stated that they were "using their laptops and lost track of time and location". Ain't that just a fine thing ?

These dregs had the lives of passenger and crew in their hands and they were on hier laptops.

Wonder if they post on DP ?
In my opinion these guys need their multi engine licences pulled. I would may be let tel fly crop dusters. Maybe after 15-20 years if they are still alive and can see and hear I would let tem apply again for their multi-engine license, maybe !!!

I am not surprised you cannot wrap your brain around it. I take it you do not travel? Of course they should be held accountable. However the punishment should fit the crime. Make them pay for the extra gas for example.
    Thank you

I think that's still just extreme - simply alter rules and regulations and the way we keep an eye on the controllers in the future, etc ... a reprimand and a shame-on-you ... it doesn't have to be dramatic. I think the damning in the media and from the public has been punishment enough.
They might have officially scrwed theirselves out of future employment, as well.
