once one knows the truth how do they continue. the Nazi's did the same damn thing and we all know what a mess that was.
Ok, so you can't speak for those troops, because you never served in Iraq, in the military. Thanks for clearing that up.

I view journalists the same way that Sherman did:

"I hate newspapermen. They come into camp and pick up their camp rumors and print them as facts. I regard them as spies, which, in truth, they are. If I killed them all there would be news from Hell before breakfast.

With a few exceptions, that's the same level of journalism that exists today.

this view is so the lies of war would never be heard. what is done in the dark rooms should stay there with the bodies. is that what you are saying.

you don't like people who tell the truth about what you guys do on purpose and by accident.

the chlldren's playground hit by a stray missile was just one of those things the military does not like tossed in their faces. the colapsed wing on the hospital another. the bombs that missed the target and hit civilian homes where there were families at home.

you don't like those kind of stories. maybe you did not have to take the pictures of the remains in the streets. maybe you just drove by patting yourself on the back for the great kill.

no the military does not like the reporter. they spit on them. they kick dirt on them. they cower when the journalists tell the truth about what really goes on in the glorious military.

why do i have such a low opinion of the military because i saw just what hell you bring in the name of glory.

death and destruction is the trademark. all the time patting your back and waving your little flags while 100's of thousands perish.

go ahead hate me. i know the truth and you don't scare me in the least. like wild dogs you run in packs as the animals that you become once signed on.

the journalist is the truth. the military is the lie.
The flame that is between us could set every soul on fire. I would love to take that heat and let's fill the whole world with desire.

Excellent post Katie, if not for the free press we would not have a free Democracy. If we did not have a free Democracy, what would we use as our reason for occupying other countries that never attacked us?

the truth is that the military would hide all such action from the people. they would cover up all sorts of wrongs. they can't do that as easily with us hanging around. we are the force that keeps them as honest as we can.

the journalists do this without guns. it is done from cars and vans and we are as close to the shelling as the military is. i have had bullets fly my way. i have been burned by explosions. i have seen journalists hit by fire from both sides. the journalists break their backs to try and tell these stories.

it is also the journalist that tells the stories of heroes. the tell the story of the brave troops that died. it is not all one sided. the military does not mind the good side. but when you have the mishaps and nasty things on film they are not our friends.
