The Fox News war: What’s the upside for Obama?

Nice welcome post.

And yup, they do a good job with links and documentation.
And it's been exposed repeatedly as lies and half-truths. You see context is very important, and they have repeatedly taken things out of context. But thanks for giving it your best shot. :2wave:

That's a hoot! Is this the same Media Matters that claimed Rush made racist comments that he didn't make? The same Media Matters that never retracted their accusations that Bush was AWOL, even after the docs were proved to faked? That Media Matters?

Funny, another one of your red herrings exposed below. Fox News is more fair and balanced than the other major media outlets. What does that say about the others? Let's just look at one of those others shall we?

______

Now back to the topic at hand. I love it when a partisan droid such as yourself gives a slanted news organization such as MSNBC a free pass and attacks FOX News for being "slanted". I got a kick out of the red herring you posted here - http://www.debatepolitics.com/bias-media/58582-fox-news-24-7-political-operation.html#post1058318288. Which one of those stories that was covered by a pundit/commentator and also covered by the news programming wasn't actually news? Are you saying that commentators aren't supposed to comment on a news story or that the news programming isn't supposed to report things like news?

Let's look at this from an unbiased standpoint shall we?

Does FOX News lean pretty far right? You bet they do.

Does MSNBC lean just as far to the left (if not farther) than FOX News does to the right? You bet they do.

Are there "sheeple" that only get their news from one media source? Of course there are.

Does FOX News cover news stories that the others don't (like ACORN, Van Jones, etc...)? Yep. Does MSNBC cover stories that FOX News doesn't cover? You betcha.

The point is that you can't get the truth from just one media outlet, you have to look at more than one. I mostly watch FOX News because I enjoy Glenn Beck, Special Report (w/ Bret Bair) and occasionally O'Reilly. I do watch CNN, HLN and occasionally MSNBC as well. Why? Because I would be misled 24/7 if I only watched one media outlet - doesn't matter which one. I get my news from various places - the ones I mentioned previously, Yahoo News and Google News along with a few others. So I'm capable of seeing the slant in FOX News, but I'm also capable of seeing the slant in MSNBC as well. And for every attack you launch at FOX News, there is one waiting for you to launch at MSNBC, and yet I have never seen you attack MSNBC once (if you have, please link me to it and I will apologize at once). Even if you have once or twice, it pales in comparison to your never-ending quest to expose FOX News for being the same misguided news organization that the rest of them are to varying degrees.

I for one am glad that FOX News exists. If I never watched FOX News, I would think that Obama is the greatest thing since sliced bread and that he is a Messiah here to save us all. You see the role of the Washington media is to watch government, question government and report their findings. Can you imagine how things would have looked had CNN, MSNBC and ABC not questioned the Bush administration? They did their job then, but are failing the American people now, thus showing their bias. It's right there, plain as day for you to see, but I realize that your partisan shades may prevent you from actually seeing, you know - the truth.

This current administration is the most un-Presidential administration that we've had in my lifetime. They are picking a fight with a news organization that dares question their appointments of devout communists, broken campaign promises, history of corruption and other shenanigans behind closed doors. If a Republican were in office, wouldn't you want MSNBC, CNN and others to do exactly what FOX News is doing now? You can't turn a blind eye to the side that you agree with if you want to be taken seriously (even in the slightest) when they have done and do the same thing that you accuse the side you disagree with of doing.

You have now been shown the error of your ways and your logic has been shot full of holes. I eagerly await your retort.

This does not fit the narrative, so the Fox-bashers will simply ignore it. Pew is obviously in on it.

BUSH said he went awol: He said he missed meetings, and made them up later. Except then he said that missing meetings wasn't actually awol.

And Media Matters has audio of the racist statements it said Rush made.

Fox = the suck.
Media Matters = documentation.

It's pretty simple.

I actually thought the links were interesting and read them, but declined to answer b/c of the condescending tone of the post and the calling of names re: the poster it was directed to.

I usually don't answer those posts, although sometimes I do.

What’s the upside for Obama? | csmonitor.com[/url]

The upside is he will be free of the shackles he put himself in during the election. That bit about being a "Uniter"... LOL... that thin, cheap veneer has long been shattered. Didn't take much, or long.

Too bad the press never got on this guy during the campaign... because he's obviously incapable of taking presidential level heat... being The Little Leaguer he is. 5-minutes with a plumber made him fumble... and then it started... Obama's hounds in the press went after The Plumber and not Obama. That's what this Dr. Feeble is used to. Having others wage battle for him. He's confounded when he's confronted.

Now The Obamer will be free to be the petty, third-rate hack he always was. The angry organizer as schooled by Rev. Wright of Trinity Uniter Church.

Isn't it interesting what comes out of this guys yapper when the teleprompteur isn't telling him what to say?

It's been 10-months... Obama is molting, transforming from the campaign BS about being a Uniter, Hope and Change back to Angry Little Agitator he always was.

He admitted to being AWOL? Really?!?!? Gotta link for that BS?

Well, they're the only ones in the world that do. Gotta link for that one? Maybe you can send it to MSNBC and they can retract their retraction...LOL!!!

The main reason for the attack on Fox news is to get them taking about the attack, instead of the issues at hand. Half of the prime time on Fox News tonight was about the attack. I could hear Obama laughing at Fox news all night long. Obama is not worried about how he looks right now, he only cares about side tracking Fox from the issues.

DING, DING, DING - we have a winner!

One upside is that the President is gaining respect from alot of the people who voted for him and many more I'm sure.

One of the main problems the Dems have had for the last 10 years is that they did not call out the "right's" constant smear campaigns. Kerry paid because of that. Gore Paid because of that.

I'm sure the righties would love to see this all happen all over again, but I don't think they can count on that happening this time around.

President Obama said in a speech last month that people doing things like Fox are going to be called out..Obama kept that promise.

And, I think he's burning the bridge as he crosses it, too. I doubt there are very many Americans that want to see their president intimidate the media, the way PBO is doing to FNC.

Oh, I'm sure the far left loves it, but they don't decide elections. The White House is playing with fire, and starting to get burned.

So you would prefer that the Right's constant smear campaigns go unanwered?

Lee Atwater preferred it that way.
Karl Rove preferred it that way.

It's not going to happen again apdst...even though it is the Right's wet dream.

Do you remember when a certain group in this country--the Libbos--told us that dissent is our patriotic duty? Sucks when the tables are turned, huh?

If it was just smear, then i would agree, but, it's not. Most of it's the truth and I think that's what chaps the Libbos the most, is that it is the truth.

So you would prefer that the Right's constant smear campaigns go unanwered?

So . . .

Why don't they just go on Fox and "answer" it?

You know, none of you seem to have much to say about that.

Answer what Real non-softball questions? Other News outlets are capable and willing to do that.

Why won't Cheney go on any other news channel besides fox and do a real interview and answer non-softball questions about his criticisms of our nations leader and his record as it stands?

What are you talking about?

Just answer the question.

If Fox lies and smears, it shouldn't be difficult to defeat them on their own airwaves, which would be far more devastating than anything else they can do.

So why don't they do it?

Ask Cheney. He's got nothing to do with this.

There are right ways to deal with people who have had plenty of warning to get their act together and there are wrong ways. At the moment their airwaves stink and they are not worth the time of "defeating them on their own airwaves".

I agree with the Whitehouse on this method of putting Fox publiclly on notice. There is enough out there that clearly proves they have shot themselves in the foot. They have a choice to make ...either clean up their act...or not and have a world that is on notice about their conduct be aware of every single spewing lie they make.

Afterall they represent the Republican party and their conduct. Either honest of dishonest Fox will affect the Republicans in future elections. There are choices to be made now.

I predict alot of internal bickering and splintering for them in the upcoming weeks.

Come on gd - care to provide a link to any of these "lies". I haven't seen a one yet, but if there are so many, I'm sure you can provide a few can't you? I mean, they can at least tell the difference between Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.

Laaaaaaaame. Wallowing in the sty of lameness. If they're "worth" taking on at all, and especially if they're so easy to defeat, then it should be a simple matter of beating them on their own turf, not hiding behind someone else's legs while pointing and sneering.

Apparently, then, you enjoy thuggery against political opponents.

Yet, the Administration is apparently too cowardly to say it to their faces. But, that's usually how bullies are after being challenged.

The scariness of a Liberal Mind. How do they end up in such a delusional world. And how does a liberal mind full of lies and hatred ever find reality again? What will become of this world if they get absolute power?

The upside for Obama vs Fox is, well there ain't ANY of that right now is there? Oh I know, he is pissing off while crying about less than 2% of the audience share that the "big 3" network news organizations have.

Just the other day, I was watching Glenn Becks show, and he spent a good part of the show trying to teach viewers how to spot out socialistic propaganda, in works of art, in New York.

It's pointless things like this that Fox News does to strike fear and concern into people who trust them. Glenn Beck has this, "I'm just like you," sort of feel and persona about him. That grabs people. People like that. Why trust any other news source.

It's all a load BS. It kills me inside to see Fox News manipulate its viewers the way it does. And Obama is not a racist.

Perhaps Fox News is racist?

There's a segment in the documentary Outfoxed where they show all the punches and stabs Fox News takes out on Kerry ... for being "french." I think we are the last country to be dissing on France. They do have the #1 best health care system in the WORLD! ... by the The World Health Organization's ranking of the world's health systems We're only 37 :(
