It's because defeatests and spineless politicians, trying to play patty-cake with the war. No other reason.
You mean Nixon right?

Cheney was right, they didn't need 600,000 troops to take Iraq. And now you are critizing them for not surging faster!? Ridiculous.
I do think Afghanistan has been the forgotten war, but that is because it is very difficult to win there.
tell it to obama, he's the fool who made the impossible promise
the previous president was a loser
his referendum came nov 7
Ummm you do know 100,000+ Iraqis and 3,000+(then) soldiers died before they boosted troop levels in Iraq right? And this boost only came YEARS after being recommended by Gen. Shinseki?
Thank you for not rushing to judgement and relying on all sources of intelligence and using your sound presence of mind not to rush and act on faulty intelligence.
That's what I would tell him.....:rofl
Sounds like some people here would say.."I don't care if your decision is good or bad....Just make it FAST!"

Newsflash: This isn't Iraq and Bush isn't president. Is that going to constantly be PBO's excuse, "but, but, Bush did it, waaaaaaaaaaaaa"?

What I would say to President Obama is...Thank you sir, for having enough respect for your country and having the courage to take the time it requires to make the correct choices. Thank you for not rushing to judgement and relying on all sources of intelligence and using your sound presence of mind not to rush and act on faulty intelligence.

A bad decision is better than no decision. There was an old saying when I was in the Army: "Make a decision, even if it's wrong".
Exactly how long did the Right use Clinton for an excuse for their failures?
Do you Remember?
The reality is that the current situation exists because of a series of PAST bad decisions reguarding Afganistan policy.
Should the President HURRY UP and make the same mistakes Apdst?
Isn't that the philosophy that got us into this mess?
That's what I would tell him, too.
He's under a considerable amount of pressure to act quickly.
Every soldier who dies while he's reviewing the situation and considering his options is going to become fodder for his political adversaries to beat him over the head with.
This can't be easy or pleasant for someone of Obama's temperament.
I'm glad he has the strength to hold off doing anything until he has enough information to do the right thing, whatever that might turn out to be.
The "Decider" was always wrong......but he was FAST...I'll give him that! :lol:No, not really.

Not gonna re-fight the Vietnam War. If anyone can convince themselves that we didn't lose it politically....more power to you.

why in the world would you presume that i or anyone outside your family and acquaintance could care a fig what you would tell the prez?
Because Prof you said "tell it to Obama" reread your past posts in this thread.
I simply told you what I would tell the President given a chance...:2wave::2wave:
fascinating
why don't you write him a letter
