Report: Secret Service strained to protect Obama - Yahoo! News

October 21, 2009

An internal congressional report questioning the ability of the Secret Service to continue fulfilling its duties was leaked to the Boston Globe. The report says the Secret Service is strained by a drastic increase in threats to President Obama, coupled with deep budget cuts. Some are speculating that the agency may need to relinquish all or part of its roles in protecting the country's financial machinery in order to focus resources on the protection of the president and other high-profile leaders.

Ummmm, budget cuts? To the Secret Service? Seriously!?

What about entitlement programs, or foreign aid, or park services, or arts, or anything that doesn't involve protecting the life of the President?

No wonder Washington is so screwed up...

"Some are speculating that the agency may need to relinquish all or part of its roles in protecting the country's financial machinery in order to focus resources on the protection of the president and other high-profile leaders"???

No, it's the other way around. The Secret service belongs to the Treasury.

Entitlement programs do involve protection of the life of the president. Without cheap appeasement of radical working class sentiments, there would likely be violent resistance against capitalism and perhaps republicanism, as there was in the days before reformist and halfway measures were implemented to protect laborers instead of liberate them.

People complain that we are spending too much, then when some spending is cut, people complain about where spending is cut.

This story is planted to gain sympathy and further the false claims of racism and other lies coming from the White House and Liberals in the Congress who are in fear of there jobs because the truth is slowly filtering out despite the best efforts of the mainstream Obamedia and other blind supporters.
Nothing said by The Southern Poverty Law Center is believable since they are a hate group who make outlandish claims on a regular bases.
Threats against Obama have from the start been highly exaggerated.

Barack Obama does not believe that recent criticism of his administration's policies by conservatives is based on racism, the White House has said.
"We understand that people have disagreements with some of the decisions that we've made and some of the extraordinary actions that had to be undertaken by this administration" amid the US financial crisis and economic recession, Obama added.
Obama says in public it's to racism fueling opposition but behind the scenes he's the one behind the charges. It's classic Saul Alenskey tactics.

Any evidence to back up your claims or are you just ranting?

People complain that we are spending too much, then when some spending is cut, people complain about where spending is cut.
Now, what is the repeating motive in both of these statements?

Tell Michelle to stay home, Nancy to ride commercial ....
That should more than cover it..... :2razz:

The only people who believe this rubbish are white supremacists.

Not true. I don't believe that the SPLC has anything credible to say what so ever.

But, I wonder how you would react if someone were to call you racist constantly for no reason.

Their quarterly intelligence report publication is well-respected in law enforcement circles.

As far as being labeled a racist, if it walks like a duck, and has feathers, and webbed feet, and quacks like a duck...the odds are good: it's a duck. If a lot of people tell you that you're a racist, I'd go with Ockham's Razor on making a decision...the simplest explanation is usually right. So, if a lot of people see your behavior and conclude that you're a racist, the odds are good that you're a racist.

:2wave:

For the record, I don't agree with the SPLC every single time, particularly on the issue of immigration. However, having said that, the ADL and SPLC are pretty much the standard when it comes to tracking hate groups.

Do you belong to a group that they have investigated? Just wondering.

the term is overused today, and thus has little meaning anymore. In today's vernacular being called a racist is simply one who disagrees with the current President, or a quick logical fallacy to stifle the argument due to lack of intelligent response. :2wave:

Just goes to show you how damaged the system is thanks to liberal progressivism.

The operative word being, "where". Perhaps the Secret Service would have been a better place to spend that $15 million rather than giving it to the welfare class in Detroit.

strained?

I talked with a couple of Secret Service agents outside the White House on Saturday. They didn't seem to be too busy... sorta just standing there.

In terms of scope, I don't think you can really compare them. I don't think it's inconsistent to get angry about a $700b bailout bill but support an extra $10 or $20m to keep the President safe and counterfeiters on the run.

The only people who believe this rubbish are white supremacists.

How do you figure? Even setting aside left v. right issues, the SPLC is an absolute joke and a shell of its former self. It went from being a groundbreaking civil rights law firm to a rabidly ideological advocacy group that uses its famous name and 501(c)(3) status to accumulate as much money as possible while doing less and less to actually help the people it professes to serve. In many public policy programs, it's used as an example of failed nonprofit governance.

Yeah. They just didn't seem very strained in protecting Obama.

You're right, letting give Obama one SS agent and dumpt the limo. A Toyota Prius will service nicely.

Defense, policing, national security... that is what these folks are sworn to uphold... "defend and protect... so help me God".

There is nothing in our founding documents that says government's role is to thieve from the wealthy for redistribution... nor is there anything about the NEA, or any social welfare schemes.

Of course this doesn't matter much to Libs.
Never has.
