Anti-Palin Book to Look Strikingly Similar to Palin's Own Book

It's quite that simple for those with intelligence.

Global Warming from Al Gore. ***** CONS can't stop talking about that one. There is your proof. Go cry a river now.

Gore, Clinton, Kerry, Edwards, et al, have never been targetted in the same shameful, disgusting manner that Palin has. Gore gets talked about, because his global warming hoax is news.

Yeah you keep telling yourself that. Won't be true, but then facts have never been the forte of the right.

Could you please link to an independant study that shows that "facts have never been the forte of the right"? I would hate to see you drown in your own hyperbole....

Color me apathetic. I don't care about Palin so long as she never runs for public office again.

Why lefties still think she is relevant is beyond me.

Because she is still relevant.

A large portion of the right adore her, and she's no less possible a GOP candidate than Romney, Gingrich or Huckabee.

And although we liberals love to laugh at her wacky antics, even I'll admit that after we saw Bush the Lesser elected twice, we don't put it past the wingnuts to try and vote in Miss Snowjob McSquareglasses.

Really? As one of her early fans, I can attest she went kookoo right about the time she thought resigning was the best thing.

I don't see ANY right wingers starting threads on her. Do you?

Thank you for being honest, Joe.

How many times was Chelsey accused of gettingknocked up when she was 14 by an adult? Did anyone claim that Chelsey was actually someone else's kid illegitimate child? Uh, no. The trash that has been spewed about Sarah beats anything that anyone else has gone through.

Has ever a VP candidate - and one that lost, at that - received more bashing than Sarah Palin? And for what, essentially? Having a northern accent? Knowing how to handle a rifle? Being a wife and mom?

I think, collectively, women are getting really tired of watching Palin get run through the meat grinder for basically nothing. No male losing VP has gone through this type of non-stop harassment. It's getting noticed.

It speaks to the sheer fear of liberals that a wife and mother could rise to the ranks she has and maintained her conservative roots. That's impossible by the by-laws or liberalism.

She got slammed for the **** that came out of her mouth, and the **** she did. Which is fair game .... unless the target is SAINT SARAH.

*Deference!* for Saint Sarah!

Disclosure: I was in the McCain camp until Palin had a number of rounds to expand her appeal or expertise, and did not. I was certainly aware of the left's hatred/amusement/fear of Palin from the announcement day onward. I was patiently awaiting her to flesh out, and the ticket soured for me afterwards. I was never entirely comfortable with Obama either. Whatever label fits me, I have no idea.

That being said, I find this move desperate on the left's part, and I hope Palin's team wins.

I think what it really boils down to, is that the Libbos won't allow the Republicans to put the first woman president in the White House. Can you imagine the trash talk that PBO would have endured if had been a Conservative? The Libbos would have called him everything from Uncle Tom to porch monkey.

No, they argue that the book is obviously intended to appear very, very similar to Palin's book, and that it causes market confusion because you do have to look very, very carefully to make sure you're getting the right one. That's the heart of trademark.

That's what Fox news Argued with Al Frankin... And lost.

I'm not sure that you really understand what a trademark is. We're not talking about the golden arches here... (Coming To American, McDowell's restaurant). Pick up the book. Look at it. Read the title.

And you can't copywrite an idea, only the expression of the idea. The dark skies book could be seen as a parody of the Palin's book. In which case the first amendment would kick and Caribou Barbie is SOL.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

If Palin's book is with a big publishing house, they could refuse to ship books to stores that carry the other book. I'm sure Starbucks will be selling the dark skies version.

It's quite true. Hillary Clinton was the target of an enormous PR campaign against her, and seen to some degree as the both the one person Republicans both didn't want to face and wanted to face in the Presidential elections.

Well, I, for one believe it. I don't know if it would have reached the same levels or not. To some extent, it is not the race that matters, it is the political or cultural philosophy that matters. Race will be used to justify people's distrust of someone. A black republican candidate or a female Republican candidate would face enormous difficulty answering the questions of "well, how could you support this platform if you are a _____". As a result, insults would be thrown at them.

I wonder how much her PR firm is making to keep her in the news?

I heard she's hurting for money, as they were living beyond their means. Her staff is a skeleton crew paid by her PAC. She can't legally touch that money. But this book deal is going to be a big payday for her and Todd.

I don't which firm(s) handle her, but I can find out.

I'm going to have to read both - Both seem very interesting.

Well - she's just the good old average American, then, eh?

As has been pointed out, Hillary Clinton went through as much or more before she ever ran for office. I will give you that it seems at times that any strong woman is attacked hard...Clinton, Palin, Pelosi. Note though that two of those are liberals, so maybe the idea that it's only conservative women is just political posturing.

By the way, most liberal women are wives and mothers. Despite all the claims otherwise, even liberals consider the idea of women as wifes and mothers as important.
