Oregon Apartment Complex Bans Flying the American Flag

I don't mind the HOA for my neighborhood. It keeps people from making their house look like crap, removes inconsiderate home owners, and also pays for a community gardener. All and all it keeps the value of the houses up.

Yay for one sided stories!

Anyone who posts stories like these forfeits any right to complain about bias.

Until we hear from management about why, this story should not be taken at face value.

Call me cynical, but far too many people from both sides post exceptionally biased "news" articles and all too often turn out to be completely false and examples of piss "journalism." It is NEVER a good idea to take such stories at face value.

And you are a hypocrite if you complain about biased stories after posting them yourself.

I used to have a condo in the SF/Bay Area that had an HOA, but it wasn't oppressive or crazy and they had simple, rational rules. That said, they would never have allowed me to paint my front door purple.

OMG purple door !!! Are you sure that you are not in violation of something with that door ? Is there a local health code you may be violating ?

If you don't like what someone has posted, maybe don't view and respond to that thread, eh?

I live in a national historic district where there are very tough laws about what you can and cannot do to your house.

Flags are no problem.

Depending on where you live though, sometimes that's a really hard thing to find. I think the principle of the HOA wasn't terrible. It was supposed to help keep things a step above dilapidation. But in practice, they're horrible commie organizations which should be destroyed.

Can a private organization really be commie?
