The United States has, for many years, been a country with a mixed economy, that is, with elements of Capitalism, mixes with elements of Socialism. In a few weeks, you can add another element of Socialism to the mix. I am not sure if this is going to be a good thing. After all, it will bust the budget just as badly as Bush's invasion of Iraq, at a time when it is critical that we reign in spending. Get ready for a rough economic ride in the next few years.
