Sharpton, Jackson Attack Limbaugh's Rams Bid

why do you believe i'm partisan?

Instead you have school greed where the student athletes are essentially treated like pieces of meat. The NCAA takes in billions of dollars, paying coaches millions each year, and the student athletes are spoon fed throughout their academic careers. What happens if one of these high profile recruits suffers a career ending injury their sophomore year? Not only do they lose their scholarship, but it then becomes extremely difficult to compete academically without the aid of their athletic ability.

Yes...there are some schools that fit within your hypo here. Personally, I side much more with the schools who really try to provide an academic base for the student athlete. Maybe I am naive...but I believe that outside of a few schools, the vast majority in the NCAA do a good job at providing the athletes with an education.

The academic requirements are upheld by the respective university, not the NCAA. Which is why Notre Dame has a hard time signing 5 star recruits, while Miami does not.

I am not even going to get into the scholarship mandates set forth by the NCAA.

Remove racist, and insert any derogatory remark towards the opposition, and it will still be convenient.

We all can perceive comments in any fashion we so desire, but until the guy states publicly that he believes one race is inferior to another, calling him racist is a convenient way of downplaying his position. And i think he is an idiot!

Not because i disagree with republicans, but because of his horse buggy whip comment when he was on Jay Leno's show.

But that is his drawing power, the controversy. That is like saying Eminem is racist because of his "black bitches only care about your money" song when he was a nobody.

i don't know what? my feelings about limbaugh? i believe he's racist, you don't. what "talking point" am i parroting?

Do you think Sharpton and Jackson are racists? Obama?

Or does your name calling limit you to only right wingers?

However, that said....the NFL is in a league of its own when it comes to corporate greed ruining the game.

How is that? Every team has the same salary cap. They share the television revenue. Small market teams are at no disadvantage versus large market teams.

It's socialism at its finest. I'd think you be all for it.

The MLB and NBA are the haves and have-nots leagues.

No, they're the haves and have-a-hell-of-a-lot-more leagues.

Well it looks like all the mouth running of idiots worked.

[ame="http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4559454"]Sources: Rush Limbaugh to be out of bid for St Louis Rams - ESPN[/ame]

Umm...for some reason it tries to make it a vid even though it's just a link to a story.

Rush Limbaugh is expected to be dropped from a group bidding to buy the St. Louis Rams, according to three NFL sources.

Dave Checketts, chairman of the NHL's St. Louis Blues and the point man in the Limbaugh group attempting to buy the Rams, realizes he must remove the controversial conservative radio host from his potential role as a minority member in the group in order to get approval from other NFL owners, the sources said.

As much as I cannot stand Rush Limbaugh....he would be no worse an owner than Georgia Frontiere was....not to mention Al Davis.

I just heard about this earlier. Karma rules again. Rushbo's chickens came home to roost!

Gotta love it when obese drug addicts get bitch slapped by reality.

He's not obese or a drug addict. Get your facts straight.

Don't make fun of American's god! It's not nice, and he would never make fun of those he disagreed with...

Seems that Rush's racial halo is abit tarninshed.

Did you remember to kneel on your prayer rug and face the Oval Office today? tsk tsk ;)

Wow...now I want Rush's team to win the bid.

I don't. Divisive politics have no place in the NFL.

Politics + Football = Lame

Sharpton and Jackson are amongst the most racist bastards out there.

Agreed.

Go Bears!

Limbaugh must be feeling very low after being rejected dispite his money. The Beatles wrote a song about this. I send this out to El Rushbo! ~

The funniest part of all this, is how the Libbos get their panties in a knot over out of context comments made by Rush, yet when Chris Matthews says that Rush should be killed, or when Olberman calls Michele Malkin a, "mashed up bag of meat with lipstick on it", the Libbos are strangely silent.
