Hatemonger? Any actual evidence to back this up?

I think sharpton and jackson fit that role better anyway.

Sharpton and Jackson are individually twice the "hatemonger's" Rush is.

Just listen to his show where he spews hate on a daily basis. You can't spew hate daily and expect people to think well of you.

"Here’s Our Top 10 Racist Rush Limbaugh Quotes

    1. I mean, let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.

    2. You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray [the confessed assassin of Martin Luther King]. We miss you, James. Godspeed.

    3. Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?

    4. Right. So you go into Darfur and you go into South Africa, you get rid of the white government there. You put sanctions on them. You stand behind Nelson Mandela — who was bankrolled by communists for a time, had the support of certain communist leaders. You go to Ethiopia. You do the same thing.

    5. Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it.

    6. The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies.

    7. They’re 12 percent of the population. Who the hell cares?

    8. Take that bone out of your nose and call me back(to an African American female caller).

    9. I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. They’re interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. I think there’s a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn’t deserve.

    10. Limbaugh attacks on Obama. Limbaugh has called Obama a ‘halfrican American’ has said that Obama was not black but Arab because Kenya is an Arab region, even though Arabs are less than one percent of Kenya. Since mainstream America has become more accepting of African-Americans, Limbaugh has decided to play against its new racial fears, Arabs and Muslims. Despite the fact Obama graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law school, Limbaugh has called him an ‘affirmative action candidate.’ Limbaugh even has repeatedly played a song on his radio show ‘Barack the Magic Negro’ using an antiquated Jim Crow era term for black a man who many Americans are supporting for president. Way to go Rush.

So Rush Limbaugh has managed to make racist attacks on four of the most admired and respected people of African descent in the past one hundred years, in Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Colin Powell and Barack Obama. He has called for the assassin of Martin Luther King to be given a medal, and said slavery was a good thing. He has claimed that Joe the Plumber, who isn’t even a plumber is more important in this election than Colin Powell, a decorated military veteran who has served honorably in three administrations. How can the Republican party stand by this man and let their candidates appear on his show? Rush Limbaugh’s comments are so racist, they’re funny, in a Borat, Archie Bunker kind of way. What is not funny is the millions of dittoheads who listen to him, who take in and re-spout all the racist rhetoric that he spits. Limbaugh’s statements are echoed in the racist, angry Palin/McCain supporters who shout ‘kill him,’ ‘terrorist,’ ‘communist,’ ‘traitor,’ ’socialist’ and ‘off with his head.’"

    He never said this.

    2. You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray [the confessed assassin of Martin Luther King]. We miss you, James. Godspeed.

    False.

WikiQuote's bogus, circular smear of Rush Limbaugh (Jack Huberman; James Earl Ray quote)

    3. Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?

Just because jackson is black, does not make this statment racist. Sorry.

    4. Right. So you go into Darfur and you go into South Africa, you get rid of the white government there. You put sanctions on them. Again, how is this racist?

    6. The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies.

No more racist than Obama's white grandmother comment.

    7. They’re 12 percent of the population. Who the hell cares?
    Context?

    8. Take that bone out of your nose and call me back(to an African American female caller).

He regrets saying it, and has said so.

    9. I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. They’re interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. I think there’s a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn’t deserve.

uhm how is this racist? He states the media is racist.

Barak the magic negro is a play on what a liberal stated about Obama. Selective much?

Will Michael Wilbon and Kevin Blackenstone write up large articles criticizing him, warning how damaging he'd be having such a "controversial" figure owning a team in the NFL, using false quotes by him because they're ****ty reporters that don't bother researching anything or out of context comments?

Somehow, I'm not expecting that to happen.
    Two points:

1)Any one who says or does controversial things cannot expect those controversial things to just be forgotten. Rush made his money saying outrageous things, he has no room to complain when there is a backlash. Same goes for Soros or anyone else. The reason you hear about this issue with Rush and not Soros is people know who Rush is, but not Soros. It's not unfair media representation, just that Soros is not much of a story, Rush is.

    2) It's time for you right wingers to come up with a new excuse besides pointing to some one else every time. It's getting old, and it's not a real excuse. I will happily condemn the idiots on my side, and do so regularly, people like you and the Rev for example, tend to avoid condemning, and instead try and point to others so you don't have to.

Re: Sharpton, Jackson Attack Limbaugh's Rams Bid

I just have to thank that poster.

They showed exactly what I was talking about.

I don't blame the owners and players. They're just stupidly following along with what the horribly biased reporters are saying as if its the gospel truth because you expect reporters to be truthful and actually fact check ****, and thus they let their assumptions, stereotypes, and PREJUDICES against Rush Limbuagh and Conservatives take over and thus they automatically believe the bull**** that's spewed.

The first two things on the story AREN'T EVEN TRUE. No One has been able to provide actual factual back up that those things ever were said by him. That calls into question the thing from the start.

The rest is a smattering of 30 year old comments since acknowledged as wrong, items taken completely without context, sarcatic comments, or opinions about people that happen to be black so they're labeled as racist.

    Its asinine.

    To Redress.

I have no problem calling out people on my side. I called Sarah Palin's idiotic use of the term Death Panel just that. I had no problem ripping into someones opinion just today trying to proclaim that Glen Beck is some truth stating visionary and Obama's a socialist. However, I'm not going to mindlessly like a Zombie attack anyone on my side that happens to say something controversial without actually looking at the goddamn context of it at first.

From the get go with this I've stated quite clearly, on the business end of this, I have no problem with the NFL or the owners voting this guy down. Fine by me. No problem. Capitalism is capitalism and Rush set it up to happen by being a controversial public figure. No problem there.

My issues have been about things other than that.

Its been about Sharpton and Jackson, and those like them, saying Mike Vick has a right to earn a living playing in the NFL again but then call for the NFL to disallow Rush Limbaugh into the league even if owners vote on him.

Its about a media society that has no issues writing great endorsements of why Mike Vick must be given a second chance after a systematic years long violation of federal laws using money garnered in part due to his immense status as a face of the league all while lying to the commisioner about it, yet makes up false information to spur a tidal wave against Rush Limbaugh simply because he exercises his constitutional right to free speech.

Its about the potential double standard of attempting to say that its about him being "controversial" and then allow George Soros in; showing its not about being controversial, but HOW he's controversial.

Its not about the business thing. I'm not saying "woe is Rush Limbaugh". Rush does his actions, and suffers those consequences. Rush not getting in with the Rams is partially Rush's fault, unquestionably...though at the same time he'd not even be in a position to be able to buy part of them if not for the reasons that are kepeing him out of it, ironically enough. What I'm commenting on is more the surrounding circus around it. The hypocracy, the double standards, the worthless media culture, etc.

Sharpton and Jackson are idiots, and alot like Rush. They say outrageous things and as such get media time. Why does any one taker anything they say seriously. But they are not at fault here either. They could have said nothing and the end result with this would be the same.

Its about the potential double standard of attempting to say that its about him being "controversial" and then allow George Soros in; showing its not about being controversial, but HOW he's controversial.
The difference is if you ask 10 people who Soros is, 1 might no. If you ask 10 people who Rush is, and I doubt any don't know. People don't much care about people they do not know.

This whole issue has been nothing but exaggeration and overblown rhetoric, and yet was sure to end just as it did, and it's no ones fault but Rush's. I am tired of people playing the victim here. It's not some liberal plot, not the liberal media, it is all Rush's own fault he did not get the team.
