    So there we have it....

A guy that exercises his first amendment rights and says controversial things who would be a minority owner behind the scenes must have a sweeping amount of public demand to keep him away.

But a guy that was touted as a role model, as a face of the NFL, who committed not a mistake but a systematic continual violation of the law and a continual repeated attempt to hide and lie about that fact should be lauded and cheered for to get his "right" to a second chance.

I swear people boggle my mind sometimes.

vick had every right to pursue a second chance. just as each owner had every right not to hire him.

rush had every right to pursue ownership, just as the nfl owners had every right to turn him away.

    it's a business, right?

Your right, but you forgot to mention Sheila Jackson Lee. When she decided to stand on the floor of Congress and bloviate about Limbaugh, she dragged the govt into the debate.

Not because i disagree with republicans, but because of his horse buggy whip comment when he was on Jay Leno's show.

But that is his drawing power, the controversy. That is like saying Eminem is racist because of his "black bitches only care about your money" song when he was a nobody.
hold on......rush isn't MY opposition, he's a slob with a brain. he's very good at whipping up the deluded people who listen to him. really, dittohead? too appropriate.

Yet....you hear nothing about George Soros, who is also a part of the group attempting to buy the Rams?

Of course not. His politics are OK with the media.

I'm not commenting on the business aspect of it. I understand that fully. I'm not a raging hypocrite like Sharpton and Jackson who think the black man has a "right" to be in the nfl but the white guy doesn't have a "right" to be in it.

I'm more commenting on the social backlash, especially in the media.

You had idiot bleeding hearts in the sports media like Kevin Blackenstone going on and on how Mike Vick needs a second chance, Mike Vick needs to be back in the league, even if there are people protesting and Vick broke league rules, he shouldn't be barred from being back in the league....who then turn around and start writing stories filled with misleading, and some absolutely false, information about Rush Limbaugh and how he shouldn't own a team.

You have outrage on the part of players and owners and the commissioner and some fans about Rush Limbaugh being potentially allowed into the league because of controversial SPEECH...

Yet you had outpouring of support from many of those same people for a man that was a face of the franchise, a role model (like it or not, sports people are for many), who was systematically and continually using his wealth generated from football to participate in illegal activities and continually broke league policy.

Its not the business aspect that bothers me. I understand and accept that and support that completely, unlike the hypocrites on the other side that were against the business/priveldge aspects of it with Vick but for it with Limbaugh, its the social part that bugs me.
