It must drive you nuts that Peyton Manning, Tony Dungy, and Rush Limbaugh are good friends.

Nobody is saying that Rush doesn't have some followers that are in the NFL.

What do Tony Dungy and Peyton Manning have in common?

Who care's the bottom line is this neither Sharpton or Jackson have any right to tell the NFL who can own any team, I would like to point out that most of the Pro Sports Owners are Republicans.

As for the Bloods and Crips comment well at the time of the comment we had the Ray Caurth murder thing going on along with Ray Lewis trail and few other off feild stuff going on so it was a well based comment.

Isn't it scary how some--I won't say who they because the Libbos might start crying...oops--how some people want to stop Rush from going into a business venture because of his politics? What's next, the Mark of The Beast? We're all going to have to meet some politically correct standard to be able to do business, now and have a tattoo on our foreheads showing that we met that standard? Saying that Rush shouldn't buy a football team because of his politics is just as bad as saying that Sharpton shouldn't be allowed to buy a football team because he's black.

After it you'd be more inclined to believe Tony Dungy won the game due to the hardships of slavery then because of him being an absolutely STELLAR coach. The media was OBSESSED with race during that, to the exclusion of a variety of other storylines (Hester's amazing ability as a rookie? Peyton possibly finally getting over the hump? Urlacher's chance to establish himself firmly in the annals of Bears linebacker history, etc).

No, there is no direct evidence that the media over rated McNabb because he's black. There's no direct evidence that London Fletcher doesn't get the pro bowl nods that Ray Lewis gets because he's not a vocal, in your face, boistrous personality. However the argument can be made based on the facts surrounding it.

Factually, statisically McNabb was a decent to good QB during that time that time.

Factually, there's evidence of the media having a field day with racial based reporting and stories because of its "feel good" nature.

Factually, a solid argument could be made out that McNabb during that time was being made out to be a Brady/Peyton type of "elite" QB, of which the stats don't back up.

As such, one could reasonable come to the conclussion that Rush did. Does that mean its the correct conclussion? NO. But its not an absolutely ludicrous one either.

Yes, we've seen. Your beliefs of him being racist is based on a 30 year old quote without context. I'm sure the vast majority of the country has never uttered anything in their youth that doesn't completely reflect how they feel currently.

Not taking it out on you, just reenforcing a point you disagreed with me on.

I would prefer Rush Limbaugh, or a liberal equivilent there of, over my current owner because I fully and utterly believe that Limbaugh's common sense of emulating those that have success mixed with his long time fanhood of the Steelers will lead him to be an intelligent owner that stays in the owners box smoking cigars more than trying to play GM.
wait wait wait.......dungy was a great coach. just ask gruden. ;-) i remember indy coverage, and i remember chicago coverage......i lived in milwaukee at the time. both cities focused on far more than the coaches.

and true, mcnabb isn't manning or brady. but i seriously don't recall his being talked about as the second coming.

my beliefs about rush are not based on one comment. i dont' feel it necessary to defend how i feel about the man.

I agree, I've been saying that the whole time. Dungy was an amazing coach, and Gruden was lucky to have had Dungy's guys in Tampa.

I honestly don't know what the coverage was in the actual cities, and if there's any place I would say McNabb ISN'T overrated, it'd be in Philly, where they seemingly hate him (and often times when I talk to philly fans, they go the opposite direction under rating him)

I don't know, I distinctly remember for most of the 2000's him being talked about as an "elite", top 5 type QB.

maybe after 2003......he improved somewhat. prior to that, he rushed a lot which was exciting. remember, many people thought michael vick was a good qb......

But, isn't it messed up that it's based on politics, rather than Rush's ability to buy and run a football team? He can't participate in business, because his politics aren't correct. It's scary to think that can happen in our country.
