LOL. I caught that. FOX News DOES have a line called "Some people say", followed by a talking point, without dropping a real name as to who said it. LOL.

To me, FOX News is a mixed bag. Yes, it is very Conservative leaning, and in being so, it is going to slant the news towards the right. On the other end of the spectrum is MSNBC, which slants news towards the left. Why do they do that? To reach their target audience, of course. It is all about marketing.

Rupert Murdoch started FOX News, and made the slant very real. However, Murdoch is not really a Conservative. Here in Houston, he bought out the Houston Post, and turned it into a Liberal leaning paper. It's all about money, targeting a specific audience, and getting ad subscriptions to make that money. Murdoch was a marketing genius, not a true news man. And this is why we must look carefully at our sources, and look at each story in the news from both sides of the spectrum. On any particular story, if you watch both FOX News and MSNBC versions, you will be closer to the REAL story than someone who only watches one of those networks. And, of course, the REAL story is usually somewhere in the middle, between what those 2 networks are parroting.

I don't recall Obama or the white house pointing out any "lies" that Fox News has stated about him or his administration... Yet they attack.

I only recall president Bush and his administration singling out one media outlet during their 8 years, and it was the NY Times. Their criticism was always concerning specific stories, never a generalization. Hell, Bush didn't even go after CBS after their phony National Guard story.


For too long, Democrats have allowed the lies to go unchecked and paid the price (John Kerry for one).

Bill O'Reilly made this the subject of his Talking Points Memo to open his show:

He nailed it when he named all of those on Fox who aren't conservatives, and when he pointed out that their "Hard news" coverage is fair and balanced.

The OP quote is awesome! I absolutely abhor Obama, but the white house nailed it. Fox news is not news at all, it is entertainment.

30 second google search yields all kinds of "EVIDENCE" for you kool-aid drinkers.

O'Reilly's argument is that "commentary" is news. Umm... nice.

I didn't see O'Reilly say that at all. He said that Fox's hard news programs are fair to the Obama administration and that he has been fair. I think he is correct on both counts. He also named other programs that he felt were fair, including Shepard Smith and Greta Van Sustren. He is correct.

The only two programs that Obama has a real beef with are Beck and Hannity. All the rest of Fox's programs are pretty fair and balanced.

Since we are talking about hard news, post some quotes with links of Fox hard news programs with lies in them.

Should be easy according to you.

vauge, I don't think anyone here considers commentary news. However there is genuine news on Fox. I think we know that the shows like Hannity and O'Reilly are not intended to be pure news, but commentary. BTW, commentary is not necessarily untrue.

Was President Obama handed a ecomony that was in near meltdown?

Dreaming would be thinking that he created this situation and is conducting himself in ways that blindly ignore the reality of the ecomonic situation as you know who did.

I'm making less than half what I made last year at this time, so I would have to disagree that the economy was in near meltdown.

The real question, is what has PBO done to improve the economy, has it helped, or has it hurt? The answer is, no he hasn't done anything to help the economy. He's pushing health care reform which will ultimately have a negative impact on the economy. He has everyone nervous over cap-n-trade. So, it's time he owned what he's ****ed up.

Who controlled the congress for the 8 years prior and greenlighted all of Bush's policies with ZERO oversight.

You see that is the Problem with the rights message scorp and the reason why they will continue to lose. They blame all of their faults and failures on everybody else. End that attitude and your boys just might win something again...maybe.

Obama accepts the reality that was handed too him....Bush and his followers ignore the reality they created and blame everybody else for it.

Republican only controlled Congress from 1996 to 2000 so shall we try to again, oh and who was it that pushed for certain rules to be laxed like Housing Mortages and Banking Loans hmmm.

Who was in control of Congress when the unemployment rate started to skyrocket? Who gave the sub-prime mortgage mess?

Tell us, specifically, which Bush policies caused the reccession.
