Tea partiers turn on GOP leadership

Yes the teabaggers were so concerned about the well being of our country that all they could do is sit around quietly with their thumb planted. For eight years.

That is why people have no choice but too see them as nothing but a joke now.

Yes because if something didn't exist of eternity, raging against wrongs in the past, they can't have a current valid point and all their dissent should be ignored. Real nice.

Do people ever look at what they write and consider the actual depth of their claim?

I was wondering the very same thing as those nutjobs were screaming down people at the townhalls..and as Rush speaks, and as Palin speaks, and as Beck cries......

The only joke are the members of dear leaders cult of personality like you.

Wow you've come up with more ways to say obama is hitler! Congratulations you're a traitor to history!

How is it insanity to insist on candidates that reflect their views?

You ever think their views are destructive and possibly... mad. I'm looking forward to a more china-like country that doesn't appreciate the right to be politically insane.

Anyone have any poll numbers on tea-baggers beliefs?

Aren't you the same guy who insisted most tea partiers were nothing more than partisan Republicans? But now those same partisan Republicans are turning on Republican leadership and pushing their own candidates in oppositition to the GOP leadership's candidates.

Tea partiers just can't win with you. Not that I consider that a startling revelation, but I felt I needed to point that out here.

No, he's making the argument that the Tea Partiers represent the GOP because they're going after the GOP.

Make sense? No. But it's what he said.

Ah, yes, good old fashioned authoritarianism to clamp down on opposition, if only we could be more like China!

Yes......don't you get it GOP....you've got to become the teabag party.
Shun the moderates....shun the independents......embrace the teabaggers and the right-wing base. This is the new GOP.
If the teabaggers are criticizing the GOP for not supporting teabagger positions, doesn't that necessarily mean that the GOP does NOT support the positions of said teabaggers?

But hey -- why let not making any sense get in the way of a good partisan attack?

"if only we could be more like China!"

All I can say is isn't it nice that people are no longer forced into freespeech zones like cattle...

Something that I would picture a dicators government doing.

Change sure is great.....:2wave:

Nutbags on both sides, just because they exist doesn't mean that a group which happens to have some should be ignored. There are those who are over the top, so what? It's America, free country for now; they can do as they like. Yet the tea parties warn caution against ever expansive government. They question the spending and taxing habits of the government, claiming too much on both sides. They move for smaller, responsible, controlled government. Despite having "nutjobs" or whatever else the intellectually weak use to dismiss arguments, the overall platform is a good one, one which should be paid attention to.

And shouting down politicians? They shout us down all the time, they vote against us and for their pockets all the time. What? They can't handle a little turn about? I think just as nutty, and well more dangerous than some of the crazies on the libertarian/tea party side are those who are so blinded by partisanship that they would never give time of day to opposing arguments. They'll instead search and scrape for whatever scrap of excuse they can use to dismiss the argument right off the bat so they don't have to deal with it. Things such as the group not mattering because they didn't exist back in the day to bitch about previous problems.

When Republicans were in control anyone that spoke out was stupid.

With Democrats in control anyone that spoke out is stupid.

The difference that I have seen between the two is that in the past 9 months of Obama being President I have seen people described as racist, sexist, brown coats, anti-american, hates america more than I have over the past 2 decades. And not just by other citizens. But even by our own politicians.

While calling the other party names is quite common I think that this year it has gone over board. WAY over board. Never in my life have I been called so many things just because I disagreed with our Presidents policies or disagreed with something that he did in general.

It is truly pathetic...on ALL sides.

Didn't you know?! It IS already like china. They control the media. They watch you're every move and they'll destroy you in the eyes of the nation. The opposition isn't allowed a voice!

You can be opposition and not a threat to state stability, its not easy. But it can be done.

People in china are free to say that they don't think the party will last (They've told me themselves). China does have freedom of speech. But just like violently farting in a restaurant is impolite, saying certain things is wrong to them and their state. Sure its a silly analogy. But Im in a silly mood.

It was the GOP leadership who were calling the Dems "appeasers" to terrorists and terrorism..in fact it was George Bush himself. That is where this current pack of nutjobs got their credentials.

Yet another reason it is going to take years before ANYBODY takes them seriously again.

Did france say that the Dems are appeasing terrorists?

Are you referring to the same "freedom friers" that Bush and the Republicans respected so much?

Didn't the DNC come out recently and claim Republicans were in lot with terrorists because they criticized Obama for having been awarded the Peace Prize? Did you just hit your own glass house with that rock you just hucked?

Theris nothing inconsistent about it. The teabaggers represent the fringiest of the GOP fringe. Even the GOP candidates aren't far enough to the right for them.:doh
This is where the GOP is headed?
That's good news.....
(for Democrats).

The Democrats are inept, they can only win if the GOP ****s up more. Where does that leave us? With two parties who **** up all the time; we just try to go with one which ****s up the least. Problem is, they both do it rather equally. Now saying that the tea party folk are the extreme is a bit of a misleading statement. Because ultimately the tea party folk believe in restricted, small government and many people still believe in that. It's just that neither party has represented this since corporate forces and wall street are definitely not in the small government camp. So we get left with one status-quo party. Currently, that's where we are. If you really like one party politics, I guess you can continue cheering. But I like dynamical opposition.

Tea partiers turn on GOP leadership - Yahoo! News

...tea party forces are confronting the Republican establishment by backing insurgent conservatives and generating their own candidates — even if it means taking on GOP incumbents.

I thought, judging from your myriad of nonsensical posts, that the GOP was always an extreme-right out of the mainstream party?

Don't ask for consistency from partisans. It's like asking for rain in the desert, you're bound to be disappointed.

No....actually...there was a time when the GOP was a viable alternative.
The Barry Goldwater Republican party was actually a party with a lot of good ideas.
There are still some good people in the Republican party. However, the GOP for the past couple of decades has been controlled by the far-right base.
This current move to move even further to the right and purge the party of moderates is nothing but good news to the Democratic party.
Yes....let the GOP cater to the fringe and the moderates and independents will move right along with it.....to the Democrats.
Thank you teabaggers!

barry goldwater---LOL!

finge, far right, good news for dems...
