State Department Lauds Obama's Nobel Peace Prize by Making Jab at Bush

It does not matter if it had good intentions, it **** on the Constitution.

That is a laughable argument in that it requires willful denial to suggest that it did.

But alas, since when did you care about facts to support your farcical hyperbolic arguments?

If I call for a genocide of all Muslims, does it matter if my intentions are good or not?

I have NO idea why you dredged this laughable farce of an argument up; who is calling for the genocide of Muslims? Bush? :rofl

I'm not being emotional, I'm merely discussing an issue of contention. Brush up on your perception skills.

Your arguments suggest a highly emotional hyperbolic state empty of reality or facts.

When you make such farcical arguments in a vacuum of reality and the facts, you sound very much like a Liberal Obama supporter. What is your political philosophy if not Liberal? It might prove amusing to see your perceptions of yourself.

Why am I not surprised that you fail to disprove an argument you claim is farcical and hyperbolic? It should be very easy to prove me wrong.

No. It's a hypothetical. Keep up.

The point you are failing to grasp is that actions have consequences regardless of intention.

My political philosophy is on clear display under my avatar. We have established many times that I voted for Ron Paul. I have also stated in numerous threads that I agree with most of the political viewpoints espoused and perpetuated by the American Libertarian Party. What are you having trouble understanding?

Whether you are being intellectually dishonest or are just ignorant of the way things work in government is up for debate.

USA PATRIOT Act - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'll quote this for you, since it applies:

Your right he signed it into Law but you really need to get your ****ing facts straight there , when Congress first introduced it he was against it. Hmm let see who has to sign a Bill to mak eit a Law. Oh and guess what even if he had Veto it Congress was going to over ride the Veto. You do undertsand that it past in Congress with one of the largest yes votes on any Bill in modern times.

Just wow are you folks that dumb when it come's to basic US History.

I find it amusing that someone who makes a hypothetical argument that is not basedin facts thinks someone needs to prove them wrong; how about you proving you are right for a change?

:rofl

.....I have also stated in numerous threads that I agree with most of the political viewpoints espoused and perpetuated by the American Libertarian Party. What are you having trouble understanding?

I am having trouble understanding why you sound so much like a Liberal.

Carry on. :2wave:

State Department Lauds Obama's Nobel Peace Prize by Making Jab at Bush - Political News - FOXNews.com

In a clear dig at former President George W. Bush, a State Department spokesman compared President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize to the flying footwear his predecessor faced in Iraq.

"From our standpoint, you know, we think that this gives us a sense of momentum … when the United States has accolades tossed its way, rather than shoes," State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley told reporters on Friday

Real Classy of this White House, I hope that the Republican's attack the White House over this. If Mr. Obama doesn't fire thi sperson by the end of the weekend then his true colors will be shown, and the Republicans should take the glove's off and go into attack mode.
lol....very witty. i like it.

Republicans have already taken of their gloves and showed their true colors. And thats that they are a racist bunch with no tolerance for anyone who isn't like them, and that they are living in some fantasy land whereas the rest of America is looking for the future Republicans continue to look at the past and America has shown that they are not with that sentiment.

This is all just silly. The State Dept praising the award is like a choir singing "Praise God". Surprise!

:rofl Got hyperbolic BS?

Again, I cannot tell if you are being intentionally ignorant or not. Did he or did he not pass the bill? Was it passed under his administration?

Can I have some links to Bush's opposition to The Patriot Act?

Can I have some links to Bush's opposition to The Patriot Act?

I was actually interested in that too. I tried a google, but there's just way too many pages about bush + patriot act. I couldn't find the right keywords to narrow it down.

That post amused me.

Unfortunately for Scorp, he's also apparently unable to support his claim.

Really hmm let see how much do you know about how and what the original Patriots Act(s) were and became.

If you can answer that question then you will know why Mr. W Bush was against the Patriots Act(s) when they were first introduced. Don't forget folks what became know as the Patriots Act and what was originally offered by Congress were two totally different animals.

I suggest you go and read the original version of these three Bills

Anti-Terrorism Act of 2001
Uniting and Strengthening America (USA) Act (H.R. 2975)
USA Act of 2002 (S. 1510)

You do have actual proof that all Republicans are Racist correct including everyone that is a Republican on this forum

Yea he signed the Patriots Act but he also signed a document that in basic stated that he wasn't going to abide by certain parts of it like reporting to Congress on certain items.

One of the main reason he was against the first version of the Patriot Act

So? He stood by the part that let the government pull people from their homes in the middle of the night for suspicions of "terrorism." What a vague and nebulous term. Did you also forget the wiretaps?

Did you forget that the wiretaps were legal and had been being used for almost 30 Years.

As for the FBI and US Marshals pulling folks in the middle of the night you have actual proof that they did this.

Oh and for the fact it was Congress who wrote the Patriots Act not Mr. W Bush as a well know fact the Bush White House had little to nothing to do with the actual writting of the Patriots Act, most of it was from the FBI and the House version of the Bill.
