You have got to be kidding.. are you in that much denial? Are you saying that there was NO corruption by Republican's during the last decade?

Cunningham? Abramoff scandal (yes both sides were involved but more Republican's than Democrats), Bob Ney (as I mentioned), Foley... or how about the accusations against the list of Republicans I posted....all sitting Republicans, including a leader for god sake.

That is complete and utter BS. Who here in this thread is defending Rangel? If he is guilty of evading taxes, then the book should get thrown at him. Let's just hope that he doesn't end up on "Dancing with the Stars" like some other crook I know.
No men are anywhere, and Im allowed to go in, because Im the owner of the pageant and therefore Im inspecting it, Trump said... Is everyone OK? You know, theyre standing there with no clothes. Is everybody OK? And you see these incredible looking women, and so I sort of get away with things like that.

Okay lets look at some history first.

Bob Ney.. did the Republicans kick him to the curb? No, he was allowed to keep his job for 2 months after he admitted to corruption. What did the Republican's do... demanded he resigned.. which he did not, and then what did they do? Nothing.

How about our favourite gay paedophile? Mark Foley... what did the Republican's do? Not only did they cover for him for years, but when he finally was caught, key Republican's had the balls (or rather non-brain) to defend him at least indirectly.

Or how about our favourite Alaskan. Scandal after scandal and yet she is still a darling of the right. Ups forgot to pay some taxes.. okie dokie no problem, crap happens. Ups I got paid to live and eat in my own home... no problem, nothing wrong in that, just pay the money back.. or the 150k in cloths that poofed into garbage bags?

Tom Delay... Bill Frist? How about them?

There are many more, and yes many are not sitting congressmen any more.. most were defeated by Democrats or went to jail.

And if we go to sitting Republicans.

How about Vern Buchanan, or Ken Clavert, or Nathan Deal or John Ensign or Jerry Lewis or Mitch McConnel or Don Young? All are on the most corrupt list by CREW, the same list as Rangel and Murtha. Are you saying that Rangel and Murtha deserve to be on the list but the Republican's do not?
Don't forget Vittner, who got to stay despite breaking the law by ****ing hookers. Then again, that Democrat Spitzer got to stay doing the same thing. Hmmmmmm.. or did he?

Are Democrats on this thread the only ones in existence?? It is obvious that Democratic members of Congress ARE defending him as much as possible.

Has it been proven in a court of law yet that he is guilty of tax evasion?

You know, he has not been so far. I wonder what they are waiting for? The people charged at the same time as he have been convicted.

But I digress. You're right, he is innocent until his day in court. Just like Rangel, right?

    From Wiki:

He was Republican House Majority Leader from 20032005, when his legal problems forced him to step down. In 2005, a Texas court charged DeLay with criminal violations of state campaign finance laws and money laundering. DeLay pled not guilty, claiming political motivation for the charges. As of October 2009, the prosecutor has yet to bring the case before a jury. Two former senior aides to DeLay have been convicted in the Jack Abramoff scandal, and though the infamous lobbyist was closely associated with DeLay, the former congressman himself has not been legally implicated at this time.

Could the years long delay possibly be because they know they have no case against DeLay???

You are absolutely right.. they are both innocent until proven guilty. The main difference in the two is that DeLay lost his position in the House. The Dems are fighting tooth and nail to make sure Rangel keeps his committee chair.

That may be about to change though. I saw a bulletin that the House Ethics Committee has an announcement planned today on their investigation of Rangel.
