ElBaradei says nuclear Israel number one threat to Mideast: report

They voted in mass for Hamas, Hamas calls for the genocide of the Jewish people right in their charter, most Palestinians in fact voted for the extermination of world Jewry, thus I can accurately come to the conclusion that they hate Jews. And the persecution of Christians in Gaza has reached epidemic proportions. Basing statements upon the actions of others is not a generalization it is reaching a conclusion based on empirical evidence.

Your statement was absolute. For that to be true, it would require every Palestinian to meet the requirements you posted. Since I would wager that most Palestinian children did not vote for HAMAS, I find your statement to be a generalization which does not further the discussion in any way.

Except one little item you seem to have missed Apocalype isn't an American he is from Israel :doh As for your most American views so now your an expert on American also wow a Moderate Arab who is an expert on American Society

So you have lived in/do Israel and can provide actual proof and links not Arab Propoganda that Israel is a "TREMENDOUSLY RACIST PLACE". I'll be waiting with baited breath for this proof. :2wave:

There is a link provided for you to a Israeli source about racism in one of my previous posts, it is proof enough. I would like to visit Israel sometime. Im not saying you go around lynching negroes and stomping palestinian baby skulls in. Racism in civil places is a tremendously subtle and touchy thing and comes in many different forms. South Africa had an apartheid too, but they consider the south in the USA to be the home of racism. But funny the arabs are the racist ones and you are not, maybe you're too western to be a racist.

You're also quick to point and call me an arab. I am a Venezuelan and white.

They voted in mass for Hamas, Hamas calls for the genocide of the Jewish people right in their charter, most Palestinians in fact voted for the extermination of world Jewry

In this democracy in the United States we vote for the two biggest parties there are, almost as if there were no other ones. But you would probably also assume that voting for barrack makes me as good as a murderer of unborn children, it's in the charter isn't it?

...thus I can accurately come to the conclusion that they hate Jews

http://www.pcpsr.org/survey/polls/2005/p17ejoint.html

Or you could research, but that would literally destroy your conceptualization of the universe so do it slowly.

And the persecution of Christians in Gaza has reached epidemic proportions. Basing statements upon the actions of others is not a generalization it is reaching a conclusion based on empirical evidence.

Generalising the actions of the few to the entire populace is one of the fundamental axioms of the scientific process, well done!

I could do more research but I'd just probably eliminate all objective sources that didn't agree with my opinion then come post on the forums all day.

I think anybody reading your postings realizes that.

That explains it then. Your mind has been poisoned by Chavez's propaganda.

Im not saying you go around lynching negroes and stomping palestinian baby skulls in.

You just made a racist comment that many would take great offense at. Most Black people don't appreciate being called "negros". I have a feeling that you were thinking of another term for blacks, but thought you would clean it up a bit.

For one thing, most white people in Venezuela oppose Chavez, though we of course can't make any inferences based on that alone. For another thing, negros continues to be the standard means of referring to blacks in Spanish...probably because the two words mean the same damn thing. ;)

Fine, come to the west side of Louisville and yell out that you want to talk to some "negros" and see what happens.

So Spanish-speaking people should use English words? That's what you're telling us? :2wave:

Was he speaking in Spanish??

If they are speaking in English and the Spanish words are insulting to some people... YES.

I would expect the same if I was attempting to speak Spanish and insulted someone.

Considering that "negro" means black and was used quite commonly until a few decades ago, can you explain the inherently offensive meaning of the word?

It's not offensive to me, but I'm not a black person.

For your education:

Negro is a term referring to people of Black ancestry. Prior to the shift in the lexicon of American and worldwide classification of race and ethnicity in the late 1960s, the appellation was accepted as a normal, completely neutral, formal term both by those of Black African descent as well as those of non-African black descent. During the American Civil Rights movement of the 1950s and 1960s, some African American leaders objected to the term, preferring the term Black. During the 1960s Negro came to be considered an ethnic slur.

It's not offensive to me, but I'm not a black person.

For your education:

You didn't answer my question. I asked what aspect of the word "negro" was offensive, particularly in the context of its usage by a Venezuelan, since "negro" means "black" in Spanish. Moreover, the phrase "you are lynching negroes" originated during a period of racism, obviously, so writing "you are lynching blacks" would dilute the meaning of the phrase that contains the term that you describe as offensive.

I did answer your question. Black people consider the word offensive. I posted a quote from Wiki confirming what I already knew.

TRY READING MY POST !!

Is that so difficult to comprehend???

Do you deliberately refer to people by terms if you know they consider it offensive??

You'll have to ask a black person if you want more detail than this.

Apparently, you don't know the answer. Oh, well.

Apparently you don't speak English too well yourself.

Black people consider the word "negro" offensive. PERIOD, end of story.

It doesn't matter what I think about the word.

If you are incapable of understanding simple english, then :2wave:

Actually, it's my understanding of both simple English and Spanish that enabled me to identify the equivalence of the terms "black" and "negro." There's a magical site called Google out there that has a free translator to help you do the same. :)

I'm well aware that negro means black in spanish. A translator was not necessary.

That has zero bearing on the fact that American Blacks consider the term offensive.

Yes, and I asked you why that was, and why it should matter, especially when the Spanish word is pronounced differently. You didn't answer, so I'd suggest returning to the topic.

My last word on the subject is from a post I've already made. I would think that it would have been clear.

ElBaradei says nuclear Israel number one threat to Mideast: report_English_Xinhua

El Baradei may well be correct in stating that Israel has Nuclear weapons.

What he failed to mention is that Israel has since it's inception not waged an offensive war against any other Nation.

Nor indeed has it threatened any other Nation with it's supposed Nuclear weapons.

Israel has most certainly never threatened to wipe another Nation from the face of the map.

You don't get it.
Israel exists.
Therein lies the problem.
