Toyota Says Company Is ‘Grasping for Salvation’

Frankly I think they're going to have to look at their pedal layout, because I never heard of floor mats becoming an issue in jamming up gas pedals on such a scale.

I could see how that would happen...if you were exceedingly careless.

This whole recent recall is nothing more than a needless CYA. Toyota must feel like crib manufacturers right now. 20 incidents a year and they recall millions of cars.

Hence why I said "significant problems."

I guess you forgot about the rest of your post. I'll help you out....
I think most car companies have significant problems. Two in a decade is not that bad, in my opinion.

I think any reasonable person would think that you are claiming they had only these two recalls.

Read the first sentence of the post you quoted... :doh

Anyway, this is is simple English 101. Since I had mentioned "significant problems" in the same post, it is reasonable to believe that the "two" I was referencing was in relation to "significant problems." Considering that I did not use the word "recall," there is no reason to believe that I was referring to one.

I see. So the other recalls by Toyota were not for "significant problems" in your opinion??

Yeah, I'm sure they recalled thousands of vehicles because the wiper blades wore out too fast.

Cute, but hardly a substantive response.
