Those people were utter fools...The cause of this recession/depression was said to be greed; I think this was true.
The greed of tens of millions can be devastating.
But people did not suddenly become greedy..

So, they are not without significant problems.
I think most car companies have significant problems. Two in a decade is not that bad, in my opinion.

It's a 1994 Camry. Were you living there back then?

Yes I was. I did a lot of work at that plant in 1998. It's a beautiful plant. You could drop food on the floor and pick it up without getting dirt on your sandwich.

It's a huge contrast to the two Ford plants here in Louisville. They are both extremely dirty. If you aren't driving a Ford, you aren't allowed on the property, so we had to walk at least 1/2 mile because I was in my Chevy Blazer. No such restrictions at the Toyota plant.

Toyota has had many more recalls than just these two. There have been dozens since 2000. This is just the largest.

Frankly I think they're going to have to look at their pedal layout, because I never heard of floor mats becoming an issue in jamming up gas pedals on such a scale.

Hence why I said "significant problems."

I could see how that would happen...if you were exceedingly careless.

This whole recent recall is nothing more than a needless CYA. Toyota must feel like crib manufacturers right now. 20 incidents a year and they recall millions of cars.

I think any reasonable person would think that you are claiming they had only these two recalls.

Read the first sentence of the post you quoted...

Anyway, this is is simple English 101. Since I had mentioned "significant problems" in the same post, it is reasonable to believe that the "two" I was referencing was in relation to "significant problems." Considering that I did not use the word "recall," there is no reason to believe that I was referring to one.
