Dems taunt GOP: Where's your health care plan?

Even as Republicans pummel President Barack Obama's health care proposals, some GOP leaders worry their party is being hurt by a Democratic counterattack: Where is your plan?

Republican leaders chose not to draft their own comprehensive bill, focusing instead on attacking Democrats' plans as too costly and bureaucratic. Some prominent Republicans now fear they are getting tagged as the "party of no," and they want the GOP to offer more solutions to the nation's health care problems.

I'm glad to see Republicans are becoming aware of their lack of quality additions in the Health care debate. It's easy to say "No that won't help". It's much harder to offer an alternative solution.

I personally look forward to a less government run alternative to health care reform. I hope someone, on any side of the political spectrum, can offer something more palatable then the current universal health care options.

To answer that taunt, it would be a concession that some kind of universal reform is necessary.

They could not have crafted a plan that fell short of universal reform? In fact, they had the basics of multiple bills that where never pushed my even republicans.

In order for them to do it, there has to be some agreement on what the problems actually are, else the Democrats can always say it's not a "real" plan, because it doesn't address X, Y, and Z.

The GOP is truly the "Party of No".....no values....no plans.

But since they never pushed a plan, for whatever reason, they are open to criticism that they did not push a plan. The amazing part is at least one of the republican bills submitted and then abandoned sounded pretty good to me when I first saw it, probably superior to any of the democratic plans in congress.

And thus, when criticizing someone's 'plan', one need not present an alternative -- the validity of the criticisms stand or fall regardless of any 'better idea'.

This is just another ho-hum attempt to blame the GOP for the Dems not wanting to pass The Obama's plan.

False. If you address our society as in desperate need for health reform and only strike down valid plans without any real alternative, you hurt the country more than you help it. Acting as if the GOP is blameless is laughable.

If you do not concede the point that some kind of reform is necessary, then you are not in any way obligated to offer an alternative while criticizing.

And, regardless, the validity of the criticisms stand or fall regardless of any 'better idea'.

I thought you favored a pure free market health care system. That would be a reform, no?
