That would be like arguing that water is wet... Duh...

Carter is the greatest presidential failure of my lifetime. He left America missing Richard Nixon.

This doesn't mean that everyone who thinks it would be a bad idea to hold the olympics in Chicago is opposed because they hate Obama. I was opposed to the idea of having the games in NYC, because I thought it would be an expensive cluster****.

I think that everyone's views on GWB v. Carter are going to be skewed based on their own political predilections, so it's probably pointless to argue about.

    Actually it's not.

Obama did not put the Olympics over any other priority, that is pure partisan hackery. Whether you can chew bubblegum and walk at the same time, I promise you Obama can.
How do you know he can? That's pure partisan hackery on your part.

He in my opinion from viewing his actions and inactions absolutley put the olympics above the troops.

As to whether I dare criticize Obama, I point you here: http://www.debatepolitics.com/genera...ma-crunch.html

wow. so impressed I've defended him more than you praised him. so by your logic, it's not just the Good Reverend who is the "partisan hack"

They deserve it, there were no Olympics in Latin America so far.

Just a little FYI, Mexico City hosted the '68 Olympic Games.

I believe the reference is to the first Olympic games held in South America

An interesting note from the Mexico City games was the introduction of the 'Fosbury flop', where high jumper Dick Fosbury jumped over the bar backwards and head first. It's now pretty much the norm for highjumpers.

I agree. I'm not arguing that if you opposed the Chicago bid its because you hate Obama.

My focus has been on the Obama-haters who didn't really care about the bid, but are elated that the United States lost the bid so that they can claim it is Obama's failure. They are so transpartent.
