HE Order of the Zambian Eagle in the first category, the highest distinction awarded by the government of that African nation, has been conferred on the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
During the event at the Palace of the Revolution in Havana, which took place after the official reception ceremony, President Raúl Castro personally received the award from the leader of that African nation, Rupiah Bwezani Banda, who began a visit to Cuba this Monday.
In a note read by his secretary, the Zambian president affirmed that Fidel had inspired many people in the struggle for the independence and dignity of humanity and, together with Cuba, has distinguished himself as a forerunner and promoter in the search for freedom without borders.
Despite the severity of the blockade, the Caribbean nation, with the guidance of the Cuban leader, has become a standard for internationalism by providing education, healthcare and other benefits to other countries, he highlighted.
His human quality, affirmed Rupiah Bwezani Banda, is well known at international level and he is described as an incomparable leader.
