IRVING TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Each day before the school bus comes to pick up the neighborhood's children, Lisa Snyder did a favor for three of her fellow moms, welcoming their children into her home for about an hour before they left for school.

Regulators who oversee child care, however, don't see it as charity. Days after the start of the new school year, Snyder received a letter from the Michigan Department of Human Services warning her that if she continued, she'd be violating a law aimed at the operators of unlicensed day care centers.

"I was freaked out. I was blown away," she said. "I got on the phone immediately, called my husband, then I called all the girls" — that is, the mothers whose kids she watches — "every one of them."

My Question to Americans who know a little something about the Constitution and believe that their freedoms are under attack by the Socialists and a the NANNY STATE mentality that says we know what's good for you and we can control your every move in life, is when do we as a free people while we can stand up, get in their face and say that's enough of this enough of this BS and you people who think you're in charge go home sit down and shut the hell up.
This story is only one of the many symptoms to coe along with ever growing frequency since a Socialist/Communist took the oath of office in Jan.

SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Seventh-grader Adam Marino is getting a firsthand lesson in civil disobedience.

The 12-year-old and his mother, Janette Kaddo Marino, are defying Saratoga Springs school policy by biking to Maple Avenue Middle School on Route 9. The Jackson Street residents pedal more than four miles together each way to the middle school on nice days despite being told not to by school officials and police.

"I guess you can say that we continue to do what we feel is our right," Kaddo Marino said recently. "We feel strongly we have a right to get to school by a mode of transportation we deem appropriate."

We have major issues in this country that are not being addressed by the Liberals who continue to put forth draconian unworkable so-called fixes for for health issues and their stupid costly Cap and Trade that are no more than Socialist/Communist projams to allow for more control in you life. And at this tome what is the Messiah in Chief doing? He's trying to get the Olympic Games to come to oone of the MURDER CAPITALS OF THE WORLD CHICAGO 583 murdered in 10 months in 2008. In the news we see a young Innocent boy murdered on the streets by young thugs.
And still there are blind followers of a person some claim is the smartest person ever to hold the office, and he can't even talk without speech writers and a teleprompter. We are having our rights taken away while a little at a time until we wake up one day and they are all gone.
Remember what Nikita Khrushchev USSR leader from the past said: "We can't expect the American People to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have Communism".
Grow some guts America and say NO MORE SOCIALISM AND NANNY STATE LAWS.

You have so much more interesting things to come like only a certain number of paracetamol allowed to be given out by the pharmacist incase you overdose, conkers being dangerous for children, no running or sports day cancellation incase a child falls and scrapes a knee. All coming to a school near you

I strongly dislike this kind of nanny-state behavior. However, your attempt to link this to Obama and the Soviets undermines your own point. Confusing a real problem with hysterical absurdity will drive away reasonable people who would otherwise agree with you.

What a misleading OP.

The state sent an automatic letter to the mom. In response the governor and the other state officials are working to rectify the law and are NOT asking the mom to change anything she is doing. The Governor and Senator said the law was outside of "common sense" and need to be changed.

BTW, Socialism and Communism are not interchangeable. There is a huge difference between having ethical oversight and controlling private companies.

Socialism is the collective ownership and management of the means of production; communism is a variant of socialism in which money, markets, and the state are eliminated.

Directly nothing but as the Nanny state and it's object of total control and raising money though ridiculous fees for things that are none of the states business it runs parallel to the Socialistic/Communistic maneuvers Obama is working on the poor unsuspecting minions that worship him. Even the most die Hard Obama disciples should be waking up to the facts by now. Govenment intrusion into the lives of Americans in not a step forward. Hell even in Europe they are beginning to see that Socialism will last only as long as there are people to take from. and once they go away the whole system collapses on it's self. Any Government capable of giving you everything is capable of taking everything away.
Take Obama out of the picture and you still have a country with Nanny mentality run a muck.
Take for example the cast of a Granny in Clinton, Indiana who faces 60 days in jail and or a $500 fine for buy over the counter medicine because she bought 3.6 grams total of pseudoephedrine in a week’s time. She bought one box of Zyrtec-D cold medicine for her husband at a Rockville pharmacy. Less than seven days later, she bought a box of Mucinex-D cold medicine for her adult daughter at a Clinton pharmacy. It was too much and she didn't know there was a limit. All that should have happened was they should have asked her why. She would have told then and that's it case closed but no. They want the money now and are going to push it. It's another example of the craziness we face if we don't say enough is enough it's time for common sense to once again to charge.

Funny you conservatives didn't seem to have a problem when Bush wanted to make a constitutional amendment against gay marriage or flag burning, you know.... government intrusion and all.

I will agree though, that both sides do it, but please do not try and act like conservatives are perfect little constitutional loving people while liberals are godless communist/socialist/<insert whatever over-melodramatic generalization here>.

From what I have seen not only on the political forums but all over is that the ignoran and the partisan hacks either do not understand the diference between he two and/or do not care. It's the same illness of logic that makes the birthers belive that the preident was not born here.
