hopefully he is wrong about the assassination. Hopefully he is right about the election going Right,
Of course the election will go right... Obama's done everything to be hated, so then the right will win most of the seats in the next election. Thinking that the right will save the day, they will turn around after winning the votes and tell the american people that they agree completely with the left and unite the parties. (Ok probably not overnight... but over the term)

and healthcare. But he is way off base on the religious hatred crap. Some are, most are not
I'm most concerned of his talk of an imminent dictator in america.... if nothing else this part is unfortunately true.

He's clearly all there watching the video clip...why would you be so easy to call everyone crazy??

But hey, carry on; we need a constant reminder of the mentality of those on the LEFT and why they should remain on the margins of political power and society.

What he's trying to say is that the people who fund presidents getting into power typically have a fair bit more clout then what the voters want... regardless of which party is in power the rich have hedged their bets to have that clout. (Ex : Obama received 4x the funds that McCain got from the banks which profited most from the bailout.)

    Make sense?

Where does that fit in the 'left-right' spectrum?

I met Gore Vidal once. Someone asked him something about Bush, and he said something about how his allegiance to God made him a dog because the words were each other spelled backwards or something.

Gore Vidal is a brilliant writer and wit but a self indulgent cynic who has proffered lamentations on behalf of the American Republic his entire career.

Read his essay collection United States, (a brilliant read), he has been predicting doom and gloom for America since the 50s, first the Soviets would win, then the Vietnam loss heralded America’s end, then the rise of Japan meant America was finished, then the rise of domestic terror and Oklahoma City meant the end of the Republic, then 9 11 and on and on. The key to Gore’s perennial disaffection with the US is admitted in his own autobiography, he lost the greatest love of his life, Jimmy Trimbal, a marine who died in WW2.

Gore has never forgiven either Roosevelt, America or the world itself for this loss, and so his political philosophy is nothing more than 'vanity of vanities; all is vanity'.

He is a brilliant, savagely funny man, but he is also tragically and self indulgently sad and he wants the entire republic to be sad with him.

With that in mind... his views may be tarnished... but he still does see the signs of what COULD happen, and fairly soon,

It would not be an easy feat to overcome the challenges faced by the US and it's people.... so many people can only barely accept that there are problems thinking that it's unpatriotic or something... anyway, before I rant... thanks.

If you have a week or so, and are an apt pupil, this Republican can fill you in on his core beliefs and values. I imagine most here could. Certainly, it would be hard to condense them further, even for a more informed pupil.
