And I would still search. When the gavel falls after something went down I fairly certain I would lose my license and possibly face civil penalties.

Not really. But it's fine. You can search people that go into your bar. Enjoy your last week of business.

Over 80% of the nation already has similar laws on the books.

We're definitely not the first state to pioneer this concept.

What would they sue me for? I didn't do anything wrong. If there is an incident with guns in a bar (which is unlikely, probably the most you'd hear is isolated cases) then the individuals are at fault. The business can forbid guns on their property, or they can allow them. That's it. The individual isn't allowed to carry and drink, and if he does that's his fault. It's a concealed weapon, so the bartender isn't going to see it (that being the definition of concealed). Mostly the doom and gloom being forecast by some folk is nothing more than propaganda against a policy they don't like. But that's rights for you, we're free to exercise them.

People are free to be nutso, but suing the bar owner isn't going to go far. You'd have to prove they knew the other guy had a gun, and that would be tough. Other than that, they could go after the law itself. And on that point, they can piss off. It's called freedom baby, yeah it's dangerous and comes with a ****-ton of responsibility; but damned it's better than the alternative.

I DD for my group of friends all the time... And yes, we've been robbed in the parking lot leaving the bar we were just in... had I had my gun, noone would have lost their ****.. But, because I'm a law-abiding citizen I left my gun in the car, and myself and my entire group of friends were defenseless.

Guns and alcohol don't mix, I know that as a responsible gun owner.... Just like Alcohol and driving don't mix.. most people as responsible drivers know that.. but there are still a LOT of them that fail to heed that... Should we punish everyone by taking their cars away from them when they goto a bar? Cause they might get drunk?

Funny, VT, Columbine, and a couple others would disagree with you on that.

That'd be brandishing your firearm.. which in AZ is a felony aggravated assault charge.

Good luck getting your ccw back / getting guns in this state legally after you get hit with that.

And, you'd be out of business very quickly.

You know I was never an advocate for making laws against inanimate objects that can't do a thing without human intervention. Banning guns in a bar was stupid to begin with.

Guns don't kill people. People kill people.
