    Will Anarchists Reign in Pittsburgh?

Will Anarchists Reign in Pittsburgh at the G-20? - Yahoo! News

The anarchists came to Pittsburgh to prepare to disrupt the G-20 Summit. But they quickly saw signs that made them believe that someone, or some entity, was prepared for them too. "Obviously, repression has already started," Pittsburgh anarchist Alex Bradley told a gathering of anti-authoritarians - the Pittsburgh G-20 Resistance Project - in a closed-door meeting on Sept. 20.

...With so much public nervousness, the city hasn't hidden its preparations against the protests. Since Pittsburgh's May selection by the White House as the site for the summit, the city has proclaimed that it is readying up to 1,000 jail cells for protesters, importing 3,100 law enforcement officers from around the country to supplement its 900-member force, and mobilizing 2,000 National Guard troops. The City Council passed new laws (set to expire Sept. 30) targeting the possession of certain tools and "noxious substances" - items allegedly thrown or used to blockade space at protests elsewhere.
I am interested to watch the spectacle. One thing that I'll say about Pittsburgh Bureau of Police versus Seattle PD, they are VERY different police departments. Pittsburgh does not play, and does not have the same liberal law enforcement policies that Seattle does.

Having this meeting in Pittsburg is a disgusting gesture. We lost Pittsburg and the Steel Belt because of Globalization so **** the G20 and it is a disgrace they are having it in the city. Its like having a prison release party in the house of the rape victim.

I feel conflicted on this issue. I hate globalist scum bag politicians who sell this country out and at the same time I think anarchist are bunch of loons. I think globalist scum should never feel welcomed anywhere in this country but at the same time they should be allowed the same right to speak as Nazi,KKK,Black Panthers, PETA, Code Pink and other scum. If these protest result in no more G-20 meetings in the US then so be it.

But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

I think its more like a prison release party in the house of the rape victim with the rape victim serving jello shots and body shots to the rapist and making the victim pay for the whole shindig. The G-20 meeting is basically rubbing their nose it.

The right to speak? Yes. The right to force others NOT to speak? should be dealt with swiftly and severely. Given that their goal is to shut the meetings down, I have no particular remorse over their asses being kicked from the Strip District to Shadyside.

Yeah, but they can't actually shut it down. Instead they are protesting and that's all fine and dandy. Plus I don't trust those bastards in that meeting either, it's always for their pockets and screw the People sort of ****. If your goal was to get the protesters beaten to a pulp, you should have it in Chicago. The cops there will beat you for no reason, and then if you give them a reason forget about it. They love cracking skulls.

    Oh that's great

I still find it rather odd that US citizens are complaining about globalization. Your standard of living is much higher because of it, and the economy that much more competitive.
It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion.

Theyhave the capacity to cause major mayhem and expense for the residents of Pittsburgh. Protesting is fine, but that's not what these folks are about.
