Budget chief contradicts Obama on Medicare costs

He's doing a piss poor job of it. The unemployment rate has doubled since he took office.

Which might have something to do with, I dunno...the recession? Unemployment currently is now far out of line of estimates I heard before Obama took office.

Uh, yeah, it's out line of the estimates we heard then...it's higher...LOL!!!!

Sure, three words, "cap and trade". It's been proven that it will cost more jobs. Obviously, the mere threat of the bill's passage is killing jobs. And, it's true, unless you can provide some proof that PBO's plans have created jobs. We all know the answer to that query. Don't we?

What is the status of "cap and trade"? How is it killing jobs today? Let's see some real proof of your statements. I can wait, so get busy.

I saw estimates as high as 10 % by midyear. We have not hit that.

The threat of cap and trade is killing jobs. Why do you think the oilfield has slowed down so much?

Sorry, but ... wha..? Does this 'debate' have to have any anchor to reality, or do we just go ahead and make stuff up?

The unemployment rate most definitely has not doubled since Obama took office. Moreover, the unemployment rate will not decline until the economy begins to *add* jobs. Thankfully, we haven't been losing them at the same rate that we were when Bush was in office.

Would it be impolite to *snicker*?

You panties are in a serious knot...:rofl

I love it.

Someone's panties are bunched, but it ain't Red's. You getting your ass handed to you and you don't even know it! Maybe the panty bunching is inhibiting perception.

OK, you got me. The unemployment rate has doubled since the Dems took over Congress. I stand corrected.

what is the status today of cap and trade?

why don't you let david axelrod answer that for you?

from politco's report after its sept 1 interview with obama's karl rove:

"Also this fall, Obama wants to slap new regulations on Wall Street firms, a goal that is now considered a higher priority than cap-and-trade energy legislation in the West Wing."

(last paragraph of page 1)

Under fire, President Obama shifts strategy - Mike Allen and Jim VandeHei - POLITICO.com

the status of cap and trade currently is---the party has dropped it

fyi, respectfully

oh yes, I forgot, the Dems taking control of Congress caused the Bush recession which began in December 2007.

Wait .... when was Nancy Pelosi sworn in as Speaker? Oh .... waitttt a minute!?

Well, then, the Dems MUST have had a veto-override majority and could overrule Bush's economic policies?

Oh .... WAIT.

Yea, that's right, we didn't make headway in staunching the bleeding until there was a Dem President who would sign legislation passed by a Dem Congress.

The timing is amazing, ain't it? Things started going to hell after the Dems won Congress. I think it had a preemptive effect on the market.

Sorry, that quote you lifted, that wasn't Axelrod. I'm not even sure it was Rove, altho WHY we'd be listening to Rove I have no idea.

Right, the Dittohead argument. Obama is causing the recession. I remember Limbaugh floating that ridiculous notion the summer before the election. Man, was that dude embarrassed when it was declared the recession started in December, 2007.

I see you've 'refined' his argument. However, it has as much tether to reality as Limbaugh's version - ie, none.

of course, it wasn't axelrod being quoted

it was politico reporting on the white house's new strategy after its inteview with obama's brain

just like i said

Wait, that's what you said?

Damn, I really need a cypher.

Bush's first recession was a result of the Clinton White House though...

   Bush was .... magically ... not responsible for either recession under his watch.

No, they where Clinton's fault(with a republican congress), and the democratic congress's fault. However, the good times during Clinton's presidency was because of the republican congress.

:rofl :spin:

Cracks me up when the apologists make those arguments and twist themselves into knots.
