The unemployment rate most definitely has not doubled since Obama took office. Moreover, the unemployment rate will not decline until the economy begins to *add* jobs. Thankfully, we haven't been losing them at the same rate that we were when Bush was in office.

OK, you got me. The unemployment rate has doubled since the Dems took over Congress. I stand corrected.

what is the status today of cap and trade?

why don't you let david axelrod answer that for you?

from politco's report after its sept 1 interview with obama's karl rove:

"Also this fall, Obama wants to slap new regulations on Wall Street firms, a goal that is now considered a higher priority than cap-and-trade energy legislation in the West Wing."

oh yes, I forgot, the Dems taking control of Congress caused the Bush recession which began in December 2007.

Wait .... when was Nancy Pelosi sworn in as Speaker? Oh .... waitttt a minute!?

Well, then, the Dems MUST have had a veto-override majority and could overrule Bush's economic policies?

    Oh .... WAIT.

Yea, that's right, we didn't make headway in staunching the bleeding until there was a Dem President who would sign legislation passed by a Dem Congress.

The timing is amazing, ain't it? Things started going to hell after the Dems won Congress. I think it had a preemptive effect on the market.

Sorry, that quote you lifted, that wasn't Axelrod. I'm not even sure it was Rove, altho WHY we'd be listening to Rove I have no idea.
