The Last Temptation Of Christ was controversial if you never saw the movie. The makers very well may be just looking for publicity and buzz around the movie in hopes of scoring a big distributor deal.

The Catholic church is a bastion of hypocrisy, corruption and pursuit of power. They dont represent Christian values, nor are they representation of Christianity in general.

Hmm I didn't seem to think Angels and Demons bashed the church. There was a rogue Camerlengo but not so much a bashing of the church. Which parts did you feel bashed the church?

I found it a little touchy when I saw it.

You know when the opening credits started? From there until the closing credits rolled.

It certainly wasn't a mockumentary. Though, it did have it's humorous moments.

I bet there is some truth in the indie distributor. I haven't seen the budget but I would assume the scale of the visuals and funding Paul Bettamy and Jennifer Connolly wasn't cheap.
Exactly, and with an indie distributor they wouldn't make enough of a return financially. So now they are whining and trying to create controversy because they couldn't secure a major distribution deal.

What a ludicrous statement. If I bash the man standing next to me am I bashing ALL MEN? Are you impacted by my bash?

If I bash Catholics for something specific to Catholics does that mean I am also bashing Lutherans, Protestants, Mormons, Baptists, Episcopalians, Anglican's, and Messianic Judaist's?

Regardless, the Vatican did release a press statement, if I recall, deeming the movie harmless.

What was touchy? That Satan was able to give Jesus a last temptation which he denied in the end?

I'm getting the impression that the mere fact that a church is present in the movie is what is "touchy" to you. The context and how the church is involved in the story line is meaningless.
