You lie! Wilson shouts; tourists stay out?

Wasn't it, like, 147 people that said they were going to boycott South Carolina?

147 + dozens + 100 (from the excerpt quoted in the OP).

Not huge numbers, but enough that it made the local paper.

Well now, bunch of people cancelling their vacation for next summer? Yea, that could affect an election too. Interesting !

First of all, Wilson doesn't represent Myrtle Beach. Furthermore, do you honestly believe that people are going to cancel their vacation over this? Yeah, sure they will....

I don't think anyone but hyperpartisan liberals actually care.

I don't know exactly where his district extends, but I recall it starts inland below mid-state level and stretches in a skinny curve toward the coast.

And, nope, they won't cancel, but yup, they'll go someplace else.

So, less than a thousand? I'm bettin' that the South Carolina touraist industry is probaby thinking, "big woop!", over those numbers.

Maybe those rich, elitist, hyperpartisan, northeast liberals with dough to spread around care

Yeah but they probably don't leave the NE anyway, they get mugged too easily plus where else are they going to drink their lattes and walk around like pansies in peace?

Well, New York is the fourth most important state of origin for domestic leisure overnight travel to South Carolina, so I bet some people in the tourism industry care about some idiot spouting off and opening up the possibility of economic loss:

I bet they wouldn't want such pathetic people as those who would care enough about this not to travel to SC due to it.

I bet you're just making stuff up, Wessex.

No, I couldn't have been winding you up.:2razz:

Does anyone actually care about this silly incident apart from hyperpartisan liberals? And I as said they wouldn't leave the NE, particularly to go to the South. Those latte drink, limp-wristed mincers would be eaten alive down there.

You don't have any idea what yer talking about, Wessex. Clearly. Since NY is their 4th most important market for out-of-state domestic leisure overnight travel. As backed up by official stats.

You, on the other hand, just keep pulling stuff out yer hinder.

It's funny as chit .... who's winding who up, bud?

(Generally the one reduced to lies and inane insults is losing their grip. )

Well it is clear where NY independents and Republicans often spend their holiday time.

Well it does seem to be annoying you.

Me. I'm winding up your latte sipping ass.

Generally the one who strarts wining in such a way and who spends so much time worry about someone shouting out in congress in loosing their grip.

Any claim that Wilson's comments will affect the tourist industry in SC is ridiculous. Of all the things Charlie Rangel has said, done and the scandals that he has been in the middle of, it hasn't hurt NYC's tourist industry at all. This is one big non-story and the partisan lefties are running with it like it means something. How about looking at something real, like the ACORN scandal?

No claim, just a question. And not asked by me, but by the local paper.

:lamo ..... you don't know anything at all about where NY independents and Republicans spend their holiday time.

I actually do, but it's entirely anecdotal, so I'll just stick to stats. The NY market is definitely important to SC tourism.
