Some perspective on the economy. That's a photo of idled container ships.

It ain't good, and despite what everyone seems to want to think, the prospects are dismal. We're going to be in this for a while.

By the way, the Great Lakes maritime fleet, which carries the backbone of the economy -- iron ore, coal, stone, etc. -- is currently operating at about 25%-30% capacity. The largest shipping company, American Steamship, is running 4 out of 16 boats.

Not trying to score any "hits" -- just showing what's what. I've wondered for a while where all this "the recession is over!!!!" enthusiasm is coming from.
