You know why they won? Because they are appealing to the nations idiots, who will take arms against Obama without even checking facts, who will silence any intellectual debate by calling Obama Hitler or a Socialist. This nation is full of idiots who probably can't tie their own shoe.

Obama, we voted you and a large Democratic majority into Congress so that you could ignore idiots like Palin and Beck, do that. Ignore them. Forget about pleasing Republicans, we voted you into the White House so that you wouldn't give a rat's ass about them.

good

but you need to complain louder

cuz, apparently, you are not getting thru

all he seems to hear are beck, palin, wilson...

i totally understand your frustrations

Republican's didn't win on the merits of H.R. 3200 as it applies to illegals receiving health care. They merely won on getting the wording changed because it didn't spell it out in plain language that illegals would not receive health care under H.R. 3200 using federal dollars. I refer you back to my post below:

Rep. Wilson wasn't lying, but I'd say he over-simplified the issue as well. As I point out in post #26 to the thread, there are circumstances where a "non-resident alien" would receive health care under H.R. 3200. However, I also point out that in post #29 that in a rather round-about way, the bill does ensure that as a norm "non-resident aliens" would not receive care or federal funding for same under the bill.

Therefore, Rep. Wilson is correct, but only insofar as the circumstances would direct some illegal/non-resident aliens to receive medical treatment under current federal law. Still, I understand what Rep. Wilson and others want on this sensative matter...for the wording in H.R. 3200 to just come right out and say it, "no illegal aliens will be authorized to receive health care under this bill except as expressly outlined in subparagraphs K, T, U and V of the Immigration and Nationalization Act." That would close this matter entirely.

As to the point of this thread, Rep. Wilson wins but only insofar as his outburst forced the Dems to put in plain language that illegals would not receive health care except as circumstances dictate under current federal law.

"its" is possessive

"it's" is the contraction for "it is" you intend, here

Your "4th grade" rotuine is simply a way to be lazy.

I don't see any problem with undocumented residents obtaining care.

Regardless of what anyone thinks, these people are here to stay. No, they're not getting deported, kicked out, or worse.

It makes financial sense to cover them.

If one doesn't, the cost to cover them in emergency room visits, in the long run, will outweigh the short time percevied savings.

absolutely, friend

not much of a legal triumph for bigmouthed mr wilson

but a POLITICAL win very large

he forced the white house to issue a CLARIFICATION that in itself is bizarrely confused and unconvincing

once again, the president LOOKS bad, like he doesn't know what he's doing

he appears inconsistent, incoherent and improvisational

wilson comes off as...

well, most americans couldn't care less about joe wilson

i appreciate the thoughtfulness and maturity of your response, sir

oh, thank goodness you approve

i was SO worried

LOLOL!

i don't care what you think, very few do

the white house obviously feels there was DAMAGE done that must be addressed

the white house obviously feels there was DAMAGE done that must be addressed

Democrats have always been wusses. Thats nothing new.

Either way, not providing those residents with health care is an absolutely stupid and financially irreponsible decision.

No foresight whatsoever, and is an example of ideology trumping practicalities.

1. Joe Wilson wins.

2. Obama once more loses.

3. Obama always loses.

4. Proper enough for you?

Rather childish,IMO.
About this proposed health care bill(s), have you read it ?
I understand its about 1,800 pages...:spin:
I have not seen it, so I cannot comment..
I have heard a lot, but with this Wilson out-burst as any example, everything I have heard is garbage.

A "thanks" is given, even as I disagree.
I still like the idea of a national ID card - no card - no government financially supported health-care..
Also, I like the idea of government subsidies - say 50%, which should make health care affordable for the poor.

EVERYTHING you've heard is garbage?

problems remaining with obamacare:

1. it fines individuals caught breathing without insurance, exactly as driving is handled in CA

2. as such, it forces folks to finagle for themselves that which they can't afford in the first place, hardly the help they were hoping for and were promised

3. it cuts medicare and medicaid half a T

4. it bends the cost curve the wrong way, significantly

5. it lacks enforcement to ensure only citizens are included

6. it generalizes abortion funding, bluedog bugaboo

7. it taxes small biz, political AND economic suicide in our current crisis

8. it taxes med benefits, the mccain plan

9. it surcharges upper incomes

10. it's perceived as foot in the door incrementalism to single payer, millions don't trust the prez when he says his public option is not intended to drive privates outta biz

11. it looks to end of life costs for sinister savings

12. no one trusts the prez, even leaders in his own party

13. more trust is required for this effort, the single greatest domestic political issue in american history, than any president has ever asked any electorate for

14. the prez is making everything up as he goes along, all can see, which is why no one trusts him

15. he doesn't even know himself exactly what a "co op" or an "insurance exchange" is gonna look like or how it's gonna work

16. he threw in tort reform for cheap political purpose and he's not sincere

17. why SHOULD anyone trust him

18. he doesn't know who's gonna write the final piece, the admin or congress

19. he doesn't know YET, STILL, whether to go thru the house first with 3200 or to try baucus

20. he doesn't YET know whether to do reconciliation, the nuke option, upstairs, and he has only til oct 15 to get that done should he go that route

21. he hasn't decided YET whether to go it alone with blues or whether to continue to try to bribe ms snowe (a futile bid, after her name appeared next to his in print)

22. his claim to have found 2/3 of the cost of all this in "savings" in medicare and medicaid is laughable and an insult to teddy who musta been awful dumb not to able to find what the kid discovered so serendipitously

23. whether to go left and get the progressives or should he steer right towards the bluedogs and the senators

24. what to tell america about what he plans to do next

25. what to tell america as to why he keeps changing his mind

health care is dead, his performance wed nite was a disaster, his party has gone BACKWARDS since then

and that was BEFORE some TWO MILLION patriots marched on downtown, perhaps the biggest crowd in dc history

3200 has NO chance in the house

it NEVER held a hope upstairs

the prez, tho, doesn't KNOW this

he's too obtuse

oh well

the most incompetent politician at the national level america has ever produced

he flew to minnesota to escape all the tea

he doesn't like tea, i hear

he so wanted to have coffee with ahmedinejad

that didn't work out either

he always loses

being president is a lot harder than campaigning, it turns out

sorry

Quote The Prof

1. it fines individuals caught breathing without insurance, exactly as driving is handled in CA
Its not a bill yet, your statement is bogus.
2. as such, it forces folks to finagle for themselves that which they can't afford in the first place, hardly the help they were hoping for and were promised
See answer to #1
3. it cuts medicare and medicaid half a T
Your wrong the “proposed bill” only effects the 14% bonus going to Medicare advantage plans.
4. it bends the cost curve the wrong way, significantly
The proposed bill is revenue neutral or the President says he wont sign it. Wrong again.
5. it lacks enforcement to ensure only citizens are included
That’s been taken care of also. Its still a work in progress.
6. it generalizes abortion funding, bluedog bugaboo
Wrong yet again nothing about abortion in the proposed bills
7. it taxes small biz, political AND economic suicide in our current crisis
Small biz will get more of a break than they have now trying to keep up with the rising cost of insurance at the rate that they have rising in the past decade for less coverage. How scan a “proposed revenue neutral bill” be economic suicide?
8. it taxes med benefits, the mccain plan
Show me in the “proposed bill” where it says that med benefits will be taxed.
9. it surcharges upper incomes
Good ,we get back some of the taxcuts bush gave them,
10. it's perceived as foot in the door incrementalism to single payer, millions don't trust the prez when he says his public option is not intended to drive privates outta biz
Who perceives this?
11. it looks to end of life costs for sinister savings
This is bull****.
12. no one trusts the prez, even leaders in his own party
54% trust him, maybe your hangin with the wrong crowd.
13. more trust is required for this effort, the single greatest domestic political issue in american history, than any president has ever asked any electorate for
Shouda been passed when President Truman wanted it and we wouldn’t be having this chat.
14. the prez is making everything up as he goes along, all can see, which is why no one trusts him
Not all of us have a murky crystal ball such as the one your evidently peering into. ;)
15. he doesn't even know himself exactly what a "co op" or an "insurance exchange" is gonna look like or how it's gonna work
Speculate much? I would imagine that with his education he can be brought up to speed pretty fast.
16. he threw in tort reform for cheap political purpose and he's not sincere
Hey, cant get everything you want, myself I would have put that up long ago but I’m just a dumb a** truck driver what do I know.
17. why SHOULD anyone trust him
Why not?
18. he doesn't know who's gonna write the final piece, the admin or congress
It’s a work in progress and yet your bittchen like it has been passed…so sad.
19. he doesn't know YET, STILL, whether to go thru the house first with 3200 or to try baucus
WTF IS this supposed to mean?
20. he doesn't YET know whether to do reconciliation, the nuke option, upstairs, and he has only til oct 15 to get that done should he go that route
I’m pretty sure he has a plan, just setting up the ole end around we use to run in football way back when we had leather helmets.
21. he hasn't decided YET whether to go it alone with blues or whether to continue to try to bribe ms snowe (a futile bid, after her name appeared next to his in print)
Nah she’s in the bag, all he has to do is stall until they vote in Mass.for Kennedy’s seat.
22. his claim to have found 2/3 of the cost of all this in "savings" in medicare and medicaid is laughable and an insult to teddy who musta been awful dumb not to able to find what the kid discovered so serendipitously
Lets see your numbers.
23. whether to go left and get the progressives or should he steer right towards the bluedogs and the senators
And?
24. what to tell america about what he plans to do next
Meh.One step at a time.
25. what to tell america as to why he keeps changing his mind
Such as?
health care is dead, his performance wed nite was a disaster, his party has gone BACKWARDS since then
and that was BEFORE some TWO MILLION patriots marched on downtown, perhaps the biggest crowd in dc history
I don’t know, looks like plenty of space on the right if anyone wants land a plane. On the left side it looks like it would be a tight squeeze even for a hummingbird.

You sure are.

Its not a bill yet, your statement is bogus.
If its not a bill yet, what is it ?

You are simply wrong, it is a bill, it is just not signed into law yet.

I was talking about a Healthcare Bill. Obama hasn’t signed a healthcare bill yet,... so it’s a healthcare Proposal that has not yet been signed into law. Hence the term…bogus. :2wave:

Very childish post. "3. Obama always loses." What the hell is that supposed to mean??

Wilson is now poling equally with his challenger Rob Miller.
