I mean, if you want to bring up the Klan, the Dems have a "former" klansman sitting on the 4 most important committees in congress, and sitting 3rd in line for the Presidency.

You make some claims here Sabr, but provide little to back them.

I on the other hand, have pointed out to you numerous times how Wilson was completely correct in his outburst, whether it was rude or not.

The enforcement provisions had been voted off the bill, and thus the bill, as it stood when the president was giving his speech, would certainly have extended benefits and care to illegal aliens. I explained this several times, and then all you could come back with was a venom filled ad hominem attack on me, containing zero content and 100% smear.

Wilson called Obama a liar, because Obama was lying. I showed how, repeatedly, and provided both support commentary and links to the relevant news stories.

Thanks for playing Sabr. Why don't you ad hominem me some more to round out the thread and let the readers really know what you are like when humiliatingly refuted.

Joe Wilson has been a politician long enough to know that his childish outburst could have consequences. He obviously chose to act like an idiot so he should be treated like one. If he refuses to apologize on the House floor then he deserves whatever actions are taken against him.

Letting something like this slide could open the door to more disruptions in the future. IMO.
 
I agree with the admonishment. If he had just apologized & kept his mouth shut it would have been enough, but he's continuing his lies & attack.

Sorry Tumbleweed but one he doesn't need to apologize not now or never he shouldn't have to go and call the White House after speaking the 1st Adm Right.

The last time I check we still have the right to speak up against any and all of our elected officials and no where in Article ii Section 3 does it say you can't speak out while the President is giving his speech tot he Joint Session of Congress. And before anyone else cites Article I Section 5 yes The House can make up it's own rules but they can't have a rule that gag's the 1st Adm.

The bottom line is this Mr. Wilson spoke his mind used his 1st Adm Right and called the President on a fact he knew that was a lie.

Back again with your poor understanding of the constitution? Wilson wasn't gagged by house rules. He has every right to speak his first amendment rights but the house also has every right to censure him. Being the exclusive club that it is congress has a right to censure their own members for breaking the rules just as any member that breaks country club rules could be punished for it.

Wilson agreed to the rules when he joined congress. By your logic Wilson could have walked up to the president during the speech and punched him in the face and that would be considered by you freedom of expression. Also someone going into a crowded theater yelling fire even when there's no fire would also be freedom of speech to you. Yet these acts are punishable.

Obviously Joe doesn't agree with you because he already apologized for it. The question now is if he will apologize to his colleagues as well for his actions.

They can make him sit down and shut up regardless of the 1st Amendment. He was out of order. It seems they have chosen the least severe form of punishment that they could hand out. He obviously got his wires crossed . Rumor has it he dozed off during the speech but woke up half way through it thinking he was at a town hall meeting where his type of behavior is condoned as a means to talk down anyone who happens to be speaking.

No not even close to accurate. The bill specifically stated Illegals would not be eligible. If this law didn't pass illegals are currently eligible for treatment by just walking into an ER. Until we decide to stop allowing ERs to treat people and instead just turn them away there is nothing to stop illegals from being covered.

So the bill doesn't specifically say that chinese people shouldn't be covered so somehow that means that congress wants them covered? Unless its specifically stated in the bill... its not in the bill. Again more reaching to change the definition of a bill just like the death panels that didn't exist.

You are inacurate. Obama's words: "the reforms I’m proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally". That was a true statement. Illegal aliens are specifically excluded from benefits. Illegals would have to break the law to get benefits. Any one caught would be subject to penalties(probably being deported). This is no different from any law.

Clarification. You do know regardless of this bill illegals will still be able to get emergency coverage just by walking into an ER. Until they change the law they can't be turned away. Yes you are reaching

Lets station an ICE agent in every one then. Further, the bill deals with government subsidized insurance, and provides no legal way for a provider to check immigration status.

The ER abuse by these foreign criminals is a separate issue, and one I want them excluded from using. Don't bother with the sob story, they can go home and build a hospital for all I care.
