Rep. Wilson Outburst Leads Senate Dems to Close Loophole in Health Reform Bill

Re: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/09/10/rep-wilson-outburst-leads-senate-dems-

Yes they did the night of feb 2 2005 the Democrates crossed that line not once but many times. Would you like to watch the Speech and count how many time they boo Mr. W Bush

No thanks I don't need to watch it. It seems that booing is on a different side of the line however. Its actually pretty common to see booing in parliaments across the world. Calling the president a liar in such a context is an escalation of disrespect. A clearer violation of decorum.

Really care to cite me any of these case's I can use Slander all day long it's protect Speech and there is nothing that the Supreme Court can do about it.

As for Libel define it what you call it is something different then I would call it and totally different then what the Supreme Court would rule it.

Slander and libel is not protected speech. Neither is speech that incites a riot. Boy you really do need to read up on your civics

Re: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/09/10/rep-wilson-outburst-leads-senate-dems-

The rules don't specify that they only apply to joint sessions of Congress.

OK, did they do it during ANY session of Congress when they did not have the floor?

Cynthia McKinney.

So, Cynthia McKinney and Joe Wilson are both just two American heroes who get a bad rap?

No it isn't show me a case of Slander or Libel. If your going ot play this game then Mrs. Pelosi should be fined and thrown out of Congress for Slander and Libel against the CIA.

It wasn't slander or libel. The CIA admitted their records were in error. Besides slander and libel is against individuals not entities

Slander occurs when the false and defamatory communication is spoken and heard. Libel occurs when the false and defamatory communication is written and seen.

Here's a direct quote from the link below: "Freedom of speech and of the press, as secured by the Constitution, is not an absolute right to speak or publish without responsibility whatever one may choose or an immunity for every possible use of language."

Here's another court case:

Not much of a difference, dude!...:rofl

I hope you are being sarcastic.

Either way, she accused the president of having prior knowledge of the the attack on 9/11. Saying he planned it and saying he refused to stop aren't that far apart when accusing the president of a crime.

There's a difference between planning the attack and being warned of the attack, which he was. Yeah there's a difference between negligence and actually planning and doing something

And where is the proof that obama was not, in fact, lying?

And if what wilson did is such a big deal, in violation of congressional rules, then let congress handle it...as was posted before, a member can be expelled on a 2/3 vote (seriously doubt that'll happen).

He committed no crime, and although he may have been in violation of congressional rules, I'm willing to bet no one in congress will bother doing anything other than try to hurt him politically.

Bush was never warned that airliners were going to be hi-jacked and flown into the WTC. Unless you know something we don't.

Are you trufer?

August 8th PDB. Al-Qaida determined to strike in the US. Also warned they were planning on using Airliners. The pentagon ran a drill on that very same scenario. Condi also warned Willie Brown not to fly that day.

Yeah now you're just stretching. I said he was warned we'd be attacked and he was by the August PDB

He was never warned of an imminent attack.

What was the title of the August 8th PDB again?

I was responding to a post that claimed our first amendment right doesn;t have restrictions so I made a post proving there are restrictions to the first amendment.

Sure looks like from that PDB that they knew of hijackings in the new york area and suspicious activity centered around hijackings

I wasn't responding to your entire post, I simply quoted the explanation you provided of libel/slander to provide context for my post...for mere convenience and to prevent repetition.

probably should've clarified... the post wasn't directed specifically at you, but at the OP and the general discussion.

Ok everybody. President Obama did the wrong thing by calling a joint session of Congress to sell his health care plan. Those sessions are meant to be reserved for really important occasions like times of war. Joe Wilson broke protocol, was rightly disciplined, and correctly apologized, although half-hearted. Obama has got a huge ego and rarely apologizes for his own actions (has he ever?). President Obama is more likely clueless to the bills than intentionally lying about them (what President has enough time to read each of those grotesquely large bills). Democrats rightly corrected their "mistakes" as they have past ones. All of us are rightly critical of all politicians , though they deserve our respect, the President chief among them.

Why don't you fill us in on how Bush had enough information to know the where when and how of 9/11. Thanks in advance.
