Except that the numbers in the OP suggest that the deterioration is slowing now, and will hopefully start heading the other direction soon.

I just read an article saying the job market may not turn around until 2014. Very depressing .... sigh ....

For those still in the Liberal Party still capable of thought, the Numbers shrink, every day. Thank you Redress, for "being there" in the fore-front.

    Keep up the good work.

That's bull. The average recession lasts 10 months. It's been like 18 months already. It's only a matter of time before things turn around.

The descent is slowing. It has not stopped and ceratinly not reversed.

Prez Doofus said if they passed his program without taking time to even read it, unemployment could be held to 8%. If they didn't pass it quickly, unemployment could hit 9%. Well, they passed it and the US is now at 9.7%.

Seems his progams are not doing what he said they would. Was he lying or just stupid.

Yeah,,, Tell that to the Un-Employed. You'll notice I didn't mention a "Party" in Charge.

    They know already.

I would not be quick to accuse others of not being capable of thought. Unemployment is a lagging indicator, and the losses seem to be slowing(which has to happen before employment starts improving), which is an overall positive. Whether it lasts still remains to be seen, but these numbers are hopeful.

I find that hard to believe. It's not impossible, but a 5 year recession would be incredibly unlikely.

I didn't make it up, it was an AP story. I hope they're wrong.
