Well, I only voted for one of them , but I support both of them. They are my Senators.

The other half of my household voted for both of them, although I tried persuasion. Just was unsuccessful

In all seriousness, I do think they both fully understand the pressures we Mainers are under with regard to health insurance. I hope they both vote for passage of reform legislation.

New England common sense. I wish they could can it and sell it.

Pay attention. No crying. But I do see me some of that.
Don't confuse laughing hysterically with whining, even though at a certain point they are easy to confuse. The Democrat party wants UHC, if the country did as well it would have been passed, but as is these seat fillers in the halls of congress are in a solid majority with the executive and they cannot pass the bill, this means that vulnerable Democrats are scared ****less and running, which I think is hilarious since the stronger Democrats are not getting their way and bitching about it, their only defense is "we won the election, so do what we say". Trust me, I am laughing myself into a coma right now, and the egg is squarely on the faces of the statists right now.

Yeah, they can call it "contradiction in terms" in a can. That one's on me, you can have it.

Results of Market Failure in Maine

WellPoint Inc., Maine’s biggest health insurer,
holds 78 percent of the state market. Together
with Aetna Inc., they control 88 percent of the
    market.1
    • From 2004 to 2007 Anthem Health Care,
WellPoint Inc.’s Maine subsidiary, saw profit
grow by 89 percent, from $40 million to $76
million, although its membership grew by
    only 2.4 percent.2
    • Health insurance premiums for Maine working
    families have skyrocketed, increasing 90
    percent from 2000 to 2007.3
    • For family health coverage in Maine during
that time, the average annual combined
premium for employers and employees rose
    from $6,915 to $13,117.4
    • For family health coverage in Maine from
    2000 to 2007, the average employer’s portion
of annual premiums rose 87 percent, while the
    average worker’s share grew by 96 percent.5
    • From 2000 to 2007, the median earnings of
Maine workers increased 17 percent, from
$22,163 to $25,876. During that time health
    insurance premiums for Maine working
families rose 5.4 times faster than median
    earnings.6
When a firm has more than a 42 percent share
of a single market, the U.S. Justice Department
considers that market to be “highly concentrated.”
This means that an insurer could raise premiums
and/or reduce the variety of plans or quality of
services offered to customers with impunity.7

We personally just rec'd notice of our third outrageous rate increase in three years. We will now be paying over $19k/yr for health insurance for a family of three, having rec'd notice of a 25% rate hike, effective Oct 1. That is on top of a 19% rate increase last year, and a 33% rate increase the year before !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really what do you know about what us New Englander call commen sense huh don't forget it was a Mainer who took on Sen.McCarthy and kick his arse all over Congress.

We Mainers tend to be a very independent lot and like our elected official to be in the same vein to bad you don't understand maybe if the rest of the Country followed how we live this country would be a tad better.
