Actually, I don't even want the thought planted in a bunch of 4th graders (my kid's class) that some day they could drop out of school. At this age, they're not even thinking about it. So it's pointless and a waste of school time IMO.

Just a question: do you have school aged kids?

Like I said earlier, I don't mind the idea of the POTUS addressing the nation's kids. This guy is a little to divisive and sneaky for my tastes, and I do not appreciate the way the school swayed the kids to be Obama fans last fall. Just the other night my kid turned my stomach by showing me something they used to do at recess. They kiss their biceps and say, "Barack" (kiss right right one) "Obama" (kiss left one). WTF is that?

I don't see anything in the article about putting it up in 4th grade classrooms. That wouldn't make sense. According to the article:

They've printed enough 11-by-17-inch copies of the poster to distribute to high school classrooms in the four-largest county districts and are working to raise the final $1,500 to provide larger, 2-by-3-foot posters for common areas in 29 public campuses.
    Are you coming to bed?
    I can't. This is important.

No, not particularly. I think that in inner city areas where the drop-out rates are incredibly high, BO is seen as a role model. To me, it's no different from having a poster of Booker T. Washington talking about education.

Like him or not, he's a public figure, and for many children, particularly black children, he's a role model. And frankly, he beats the hell out of Dennis Rodman.

Does anyone else find this troubling? I don't want a poster of any politician being placed throughout public schools. This is an ad created by democrats and funded by liberal advocacy groups that is being given free space in public schools. Ridiculous.

Also, this is a bit concerning:

I'm not sure what this means as I can't find much information on this topic anywhere else, but what the **** is a "national address to students?" It better not be something that teachers are making kids watch during the school day.

As an aside, these idiots in this article are the most stereotypical pseudo-intellectual dbags imaginable.

You got chills? Really? Get ****ed. And yea, Obama's the first one to value education - it's not like we had a university president with a PhD in office before.

Basically, this is an all-around crock of ****.
I don't think an image of the President is out of line in any American school. The message "stay in school" is hardly unique or political.
