Really, when I was a kid there wasn't one of us who gave a rip about politics. It was just something we had to suffer through until recess (very young) or art class (junior/senior).

    That looks like nationalist propaganda.

It's the indoctrination of the children in this country. My kids will not be participating.

Yes, but most likely it would have been a first grade decodable.

What is ridiculous about hanging a poster in a school hallway that discourages children from dropping out of school and ruining their lives?
The elementary, junior high and high schools that I went to didn't have a picture of the president anywhere. The closest thing was in my history classes, where all the presidents were pictured, or maybe a picture of George Washington.

There's no doubt, that if there were a Republican prez doing this, the Libbos would be ****ting themselves.

In all honesty and back on track of the OP if this was something Bush would have done, I would have been upset and probably would have seen it as something with sinister intentions. Most everything Bush did was suspect in my eyes (with good reason). If it was Reagan, I wouldn't have been concerned at all. I would have viewed it as a talking point to keep kids in school.

I think who the one is, that's putting this out there, has a lot to do with how people receive it.

I meant to say the first time in that school's history. They said the reason they made it a requirement this year was that it was historical. BS. The teachers are very pro-obama during the election and convinced the kids to vote for him in the mock election. My kid was a McCain supporter (dh & I really weren;t into him), and he said he felt pressured to vote for Obama. So did my conservative friend's daughter. I know that's not an indictment of the entire school system, but for a school already considered liberal, that really frosted my hide.

I would NOT mind it if the president gave a non-political speech to my kids and showed them around the WH, his kids, and described what all is involved with his position.

    That's not what this is.

And if someone is relying on Obama to keep a kid in school, that kid's ******, anyway.
    Well said.

I admire the intention if not the blatant "Jesusmandering" of dear leader.

I was kidding you as you know ! I was a political geek in a way !! I formed a political science club in highschool and since my parents survived both Nazi and Communist terror I usually wrote term papers or English papers about politics hatred of Russians and NAZI'S and I thought Senator McCarthy was a great man for going after Communists.

But I made up for it in college and the military. Anyway they tell me I had fun !!
