Generic Congressional Ballot: Repubs Widen Lead Over Dems

    Generic Congressional Ballot
Republicans Widen Lead Over Democrats on Generic Ballot
    Tuesday, September 01, 2009

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 43% would vote for their districtís Republican congressional candidate while 36% would opt for his or her Democratic opponent.

That represents the lowest level of support for Democrats in recent years, while Republicans have tied their highest level of support for the third straight week. The previous low for Democrats over the past year was 37%.

I can't believe that Obama and the democrats took a huge wave of American support, and pissed it away in just a few short months.

That will teach them to display their true agenda.

Funny....I think just the opposite is the case. I think the public is pissed off that Congress isn't showing the backbone/spine to support the agenda that they were elected to pursue.

As I've said before...if the Democrats, particularly the blue-dog Democrats don't get to work dowing what they were elected to do, then the Democrats don't deserve to be the majority party.

There is no difference between a Republican majority and a Democratic majority that doesn't have the balls to use its power. The result is the same either way.

You just keep on believing that. In fact, I hope the democrats see it that way too, then we will really see a landslide in 2010.

It's not surprising that the Democrats have lost support. They've demonstrated unequivocally that they aren't capable of leading flies to a bag of ****. However, I don't understand why anyone would think returning power to the Republicans, who ran up the largest debt in American history, would make anything better.

I doubt there will be any "landslide" either way. The American people know what happened the last time they gave the GOP power. The fact that they are unhappy with the Democrats is not likely to cause them to forget life under GWB and the GOP.

However, the Dems will lose some seats (probably not the majority) if they continue to wimp out and not use their political capital.

    Personal opinion:

If, I repeat IF Democrats or Republicans run on a fiscal conservative platform, I think they will win. If both sides run otherwise, the one viewed as least offensive will win.

I would imagine the Republicans will pick up 10 to 20 seats in the house and a couple of seats in the senate. However, unless they start becoming more moderate and quit placating the nut jobs they are destined to remain a minority party.

Despite this poll, people will still vote their representative back into office, regardless of party.
