The midterms are just right around the corner. If I were coming up for -re-election and the president whose ass I kissed for over a year was losing points by the day, I would be very worried about my chances.

PBO's going to need something big to salvage his numbers. Something big enough for him to be able to say, "Yeah, I'm a socialist asshole, but when the chips are down, I can git'er done.".

Pretty amazing that Bush went from a high of 87% job approval rating to a low of 24% don't ya think?

At the time, you had every poll out there giving him below 30% approval ratings. That's the difference.

And, now, we have every poll within a few points of each other. What's the difference?

Not nearly as amazing that PBO has lost 30 plus points in 7 months and losing more, everyday.

PBO's going to need a 9/11 to ever see an accent in his poll numbers.

We shall see where it goes. At this point in time though I'm not putting to much stock in polls.

I think its ridiculous for either side to pick and choose the polls they want. Why not just go to Real Clear Politics and look at the rolling average between all of them.
Because most of those polls use ****ty methodologies. I don't give a **** what "all adults" think, because "all adults" don't vote. Furthermore, an average of polls is statistically not any more likely to be accurate than any individual poll.

You shouldn't be surprised, because it's a good polling company that uses a methodology that reflects lower numbers than most other polls. Rather than attacking Rasmussen based on that, why not just recognize that fact and let it go?

Nobody is saying they are bs, it's just when you guys only pick the polls that show the lowest numbers, it makes you look overly partisan.

Even the Fox News polls have Obama at 53% approval.

Why not use the 51% avg to at least appear to be fair?

That would be amazing if even close to the truth.

Anyway, show me a republican frontrunner even close to 50% approval and then i'll worry.

I'm just curious, when did you tell us so?

And what exactly did you tell us; that Obama's approval rating would drop below its election-night high?

Is this actually breaking news? Because it seems to me that simple logic would dictate that the President's approval rating would fluctuate throughout the course of his term. Sometimes it goes down; sometimes it goes up; sometimes it just sits and hovers somewhere for awhile. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Did someone insist to you that it was going to stay at 65% (or whatever it was) for all time and eternity?

Thank you for taking my broad, blanket statement to task. I was merely implying that there were those of us who saw through the media hype pre-election. Not all of us were convinced that PBO was the savior of the free world. Judging by the consistently dropping poll numbers, more people are becoming aware of that daily.

...and yes, it's headline news...just like it was every week with GWB's poll numbers.
