Certainly what some of the more vocal seem to want to do.

"I want those people who have risen up against the government with a hostile attitude against a legally formed government to know what the consequences are," Ortega warned.
Anyone who was not aware that this man was a tyrant within 30 days of his election will please stay after class for remedial ridicule.

Re: Venezuela accuses protesters of attempting 'rebellion'

There's nothing more amusingly ironic than rightists who supported a man who "won" two disputed elections and was deeply unpopular by the end of his tenure attacking a man who not only won several elections but survived a recall attempt (no such democratic provision exists in this country, incidentally), and continued to enjoy widespread popularity because of his establishment of participatory economic management as opposed to the particularly authoritarian brand of capitalism that continues to exist here.

Yeah, I think I'll go with this over you.

Even before the December 2006 referendum provided Chavez with a popular mandate to deepen the social revolution, the government had moved ahead to add participatory budgeting and local economic development initiatives called "nuclei of endogenous development" to the educational Misiones, subsidized food stores, and worker cooperatives comprising the social economy.

I knew someone would bring it up, and sure enough, someone did. Impeachment is not a democratic provision in any way comparable to a recall; it is an underutilized mechanism for removal of executives that can only be exercised after specific improprieties. A recall is nowhere near the same; it can be initiated based on popular sentiment.
