Ted Kennedy Dies of Brain Cancer at Age 77

Ted Kennedy Dies of Brain Cancer at Age 77 - ABC News

Sen. Ted Kennedy died shortly before midnight Tuesday at his home in Hyannis Port, Mass., at age 77.

The man known as the "liberal lion of the Senate" had fought a more than year-long battle with brain cancer, and according to his son had lived longer with the disease than his doctors expected him to.

"We've lost the irreplaceable center of our family and joyous light in our lives, but the inspiration of his faith, optimism, and perseverance will live on in our hearts forever," the Kennedy family said in a statement. "He loved this country and devoted his life to serving it."

    (...)
RIP, Ted Kennedy. In the coming time, there will undoubtedly be agitation over how to deal with the UHC issue that he wanted to see fulfilled so strongly, as well as how to fill his Senate seat. He'd been concerned with that in his last weeks of life also.

    Curse your lightning fingers Agnapostate!

Well, there'll be absolutely no point in turning on the news for the next two days.

Rest in peace, Senator. My condolences to the Kennedy family.

ARG! Fox is doing updates every few minutes!

It reminds me of Chevy Chase's bit on Weekend Update when Generalissimo Francisco Franco died. For weeks he did updates on his condition, announcing "he's still dead."

They're preempting Glenn Beck for this for cryin' out loud! If it were actual news I might not be so unhappy. But this is the same bits of information over, and over and over again!

I curious though, if he was this close to death with a brain tumor, was it really him asking for the change in Massachusetts Law these last few days, or a flunky working in his name. An investigation is certainly in order.

I just hope they don't turn this into a circus like Paul Wellstone, Coretta Scott King, Michael Jackson, etc. and let the family bury him with dignity, this is a man's death, and even though I had no respect for him in life I can give him that much in the end. R.I.P Senator Kennedy.
Neither side in an argument can find the truth when both make an absolute claim on it.

I'd give the odds on this at about zero point zero zero one.

Watch for an aggrieved Obama to return to Washington tomorrow and make a plea (which will be described by the press as "impassioned,") for Health Care reform, "for Ted."
