Ted Kennedy Dies of Brain Cancer at Age 77

Kennedy's passing could give public health option proponents a boost.

If the Bill is re-named the Kennedy bill, which it almost surely will, the Democrats will have the momentum.

The Dems have a nice opportunity to exploit.

Whether it is used correctly is in their hands.

I don't agree that this will save the "public" health effort because REALITY will get in the way; that would be the OMB deficit projections of $7 trillion deficit over the next decade which is going nowhere by UP.

Americans need to force their Liberal politicians to answer these questions; (1) who are you going to make pay for all this? And; (2) how does this not add to the humongous and irresponsible deficit we already have and; (3) are you politicians going to be under the SAME program you want to force on the rest of us?

:2wave:

The mods should kill this thread Ted Kennedy style. Let it drown in the sewer.

The mods should do their jobs and recognize your efforts to troll this thread into the sewer and perhaps thread ban you; but that is just my humble opinion.

I love this farcical notion too; that he was this champion for the poor. Nothing he ever did was a benefit to the poor; but rather and effort to make Americans dumb enough to buy his agenda dependent dumb wards of the State.

I am betting he thought of nothing else as he sailed his yachts off of Martha's Vineyard.

:rofl

I'm sorry, I have to disagree with you. Just because you disagree with his way of doing things doesn't take away his motivation. You may have seen him as one who was against your political opinion, but that didn't mean he wasn't sincerely fighting for the poor. I think his "agenda" was the correct one for America on many levels. It is the right I disagree with. I think that their idea of freedom does little for the have nots and a lot for the haves.

p.s. When I die, I hope I'm remembered with ribauld jokes, questionable stories, and way too much booze. And I want Hatuey to eulogize me.

I don't agree that this will save the "public" health effort because REALITY will get in the way;

The reality is Medicare spends four per cent on overhead, while private insurance carriers spend roughly 30 per cent on overhead.

What do you think, that inconvienant fact, forces the private carriers to do?

Care to take a guess?

Clearly, the facts have escaped your understanding of the financial peril regarding Americans and their health system.

I don't know. He seems to be in pretty good spirits today. He may actually be getting just enough dick from his husband at home.

I think we should start Universal Health Care early and send her some Midol. I'll give $3 if you give $3?

Sigh. We really should start a pool on how quickly someone from the other side will come into a RIP type thread and **** it up with their hyper partisan idiocy when everyones being respectful in it. Like it'd be so damn hard to make a "Why the man deserves no respect in death" thread or something...but of course not, that'd take them being actually halfway respectful to their fellow posters and god knows people don't give a **** about that. They have to have all the attention on them, they must derail it into a big argument.

Who gives a sh*t? People die all the f*cking time. F*ck Ted Kennedy. The only reason anyone sees fit to show their “respect” towards him is because he was a famous politician.

Classless.

Classless.

Spare us the sanctimonious b.s. He was a drunken sot from a privileged background. You're delusional if you think he was a statesman. He was set up, from BIRTH, to play a role.

Now he's dead.

boo-de-frickin-hoo.

Your insulting behaviour is meaningless.

Classless.

Why? Do you know Ted Kennedy? Does his family post on the forum? Am I going to hurt Teddy's feelings?

Ted Kennedy is dead. You and I will be joining him sooner or later. Get over it.

What does me having to know Ted Kennedy or not have to do with dancing on the grave of someone who just died.

It is a classless individual who participates in such foolish behaviour.

You seem to have a very optimistic view on life.
One way or the other, I can't really see how insulting dead people promotes anyone's ideas, arguments or values.
Please elaborate?

Your insulting behaviour is meaningless.

Your reprimands of my behavior are hilarious. Go put on your black, turn off your computer, put ashes on your forehead, and mourn this tremendous loss appropriately.

Hypocrites. :doh

Well, you are also forgetting that there are various respectful and disrespectful ways of dancing on someone's grave. If you were to wear tap shoes chances are it's going to be disrespectful. However, I don't see how a slow waltz could be construed as anything but respectful.

I hope people dance on my grave. Dancing is so festive.

Why should people say nice things about him because he is dead?

If he has sponsored, proposed or otherwise brought some sort of act of government that could have or has hurt someone, why should we be weeping over his death?

This Camelcrap nonsense, fawning over politicians and famous people needs to end.

I don't see how the word "hypocrites" applies to me, but then again, I don't see how dancing on someone's grave raises a person level of dignity.

What I see is obvious.

Anonymous posters who have no access, no contacts and no prestige trashing the memories of a respected statesman.

What I see is obvious. A new user who is probably a sock puppet for an old user, with no access, no contacts, and no prestige, trashing those who are exercising free speech rights.

You look down your nose at us and sneer, thinking you are the epitomy of class. We have parents, and you are not them.

I will act however I wish to act in regards to death, and your approval or disapproval are nothing but an opportunity for mockery.

You, sir, and I use the term loosely, are no American, in your zeal to silence free speech.
