Could you do us all a favor and learn to use the PM/report function? It ain't rocket science.

Ted Kennedy was a polarizing figure. Why should people be forbidden from expressing antipathy as well as affection for him after his death?

It's not like he cares, HE'S DEAD.

The legacy of a cheat, a hypocrite a politically corrupt politician and person who committed manslaughter and chose not to report for almost 24 hours?

Yeah right; carry on with your respect of despicable assholes.

Pride? What parallel universe are you living in? This isn't about pride; this is about reality, something you apparently prefer to avoid.

Respect has to be earned. He didn't.

Somehow I knew you'd ignore the fact that he has served his country all along.

And the reality is that you look like a immoral fool dancing on Kennedy's grave. How can you sit here and cheer on someone's death, whether you believe what is said about him or not?

Sure Kennedy made plenty of enemies, but that shouldn't be his legacy. He was a US Senator and a war veteran. For that matter, every American should honor his passing with a minimal amount of humanity.
"All mankind is of one author, and is one volume; when one man dies, one chapter is not torn out of the book, but translated into a better language...No man is an island, entire of itself...any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee." - John Donne

It is palinly obvious that both extremes have posted classless things on this thread and I do not even want to bother going back to dtermine which political pole the first asshole who posted a dispicably classless thing was from.

A pox on both of your houses.

OH really? Will there be a loyalty test afterwards? Americans have mocked the passing of public figures since our inception. It's nothing new, and it's certainly nothing to get your panties in a wad about. You're sad? Sorry. I remain apathetic. He didn't represent me, he made a lot of poor choices, and I didn't support him. Nor do I believe he was a good statesman or leader.

How people feel about you after your death is largely a function of how you lived.

As an actual veteran who served in a war I challenge your calling Kennedy a "war veteran". He was a veteran becasue he did serve and like Bush w he did not serve in a war. Therefore if people disparage The Bush w for not being an actuall war vetaran we cannotfalsly grant that title to Kennedy either.

I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality. - MLK
