Why? Just because you don't like the way its going? People are being civil here, there's no need to put it in the sewer just because people are expressing views that you don't agree with.

FWIW, rest in peace, Sen. Kennedy.

That says alot about alot of people I'm afraid.

Perhaps it's just me, but the other side of the coin; people being happy about his death, is just as ridiculous considering that nobody here knew him. I have respect for the dead regardless of who it is. Am I happy he died? No. Am I sad he died? No. Having respect for the dead doesn't necessarily mean that we are shedding tears for someone we don't know.
But we did know him as a public figure. His life was pretty much an open book and we all know what he did politically.

What is respect for the dead? He's dead and does not care anymore. He can take nothing with him so what's to respect? His accomplishments? Not many that I would consider worthy. His family? Not really.

So I don't agree. Has nothing to do with anyone knowing him personally. It has to do with his (in my opinion) being a useless waste of human flesh. I did not hate the guy, but respect him because he is dead? Please, we will all attain that one day.

The only reason we on the left are being civil is because we're shocked by how many on the right have shown zero class.

Then why criticize people who don't know him yet are saddened by his death? Are their feelings not just as legitimate as those who are happy are? Personally I think both are ridiculous for the same reason that Hatuey does. Nobody here knew him personally. Yes, his life was an open book but that doesn't mean that anyone actually knew him. I'm sure you realize that a person's personality is far more intricate and complex than something that can be written in a book or seen on tv. Nobody here really knows what kind of a guy he is in person. That's my only point.

Replace "we" with I and "we're" with I am would be more accurate.

Since when has that ever made many on the left civil? It seems like they are always shocked and outraged by something that the right does. Then again, the same can be said for many on the right.

YEAH! You've never been to Mexico. Those people would have come over regardless of American policy. Mexico is a dirt ball with chihuahuas and soccer games. It's not a fun place to live in. Mexicans will tell you. Nobody encourages North Africans to come to Europe and they still leave by the thousands on boats and rafts every single day. Why? Because prosperity attracts people REGARDLESS of what the law is. North Africans have to cross dangerous waters, deal with dangerous smugglers and risk being sent into human slavery just for a shot at a better life. Do you honestly think all those dusty ass Mexicans wouldn't have seen the prosperity next door to them when absolutely nothing separates us from them other then a few Federales and fat American cops on the other side? You're naiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive.
