CIA report has new details of prisoner abuse

I wonder what the casualty numbers are for civilians from askew drone strikes and civilians caught up by suicide bombers. And how many are both.

We can't forget about crossfire, "Shock and Awe," bombing entire restaurants for one person etc.

apparently they are all blamed on the US military
100s of 1,000s of slaughtered children in their beds or playgrounds

I always wonder why Liberals think that US soldiers are the problem and not the terrorists who are trying to force their views on all of us through violence; could you please shed some light on that.

Oh, one other question; why is it that you so willingly fall for the terrorist propaganda of hiding amongst civilians causing their deaths so they can blame our soldiers for their deaths?

Why don't you do us all a favor and meet with the terrorists and share your desire for them to stop; maybe they will listen to you? :rofl

They won't need roadside bombs if we are not there. There will be no crossfire if we stop shooting at them. They came from OTHER countries to fight us out of Iraq and Af. Besides, if the Iraqis and Afghans are so independant and free it should be THIER job.

Saying that us occupying Iraq isn't part of a problem of a great scale is wrong. Why do you always hide behind those who are willing to serve? let them talk for themselves. You can't hide behind soldiers and praise force when you don't participate. That makes you a true warrior of the keyboard.
You condemn force. So your solution is using force. A force which has ended up breading only more hatred for the US. We are now a creator of problems in Iraq no matter how you look at it. Unless we manage to get rid of all the people that do not trust the US in Iraq. Is anyone that doesn't trust the US a terrorist?
You say I'm simply falling for propaganda. Yet you very well could be the one falling for it. At what point does surgical strikes that take more innocent lives than condemned, shift from a moment of opportunity to a occasion to incite revenge?

when we are gone, they will slaughter each other

...Interrogators took the simulated drowning technique of waterboarding beyond what was authorized.]

I just thought I would throw in my two cents here...

That quote from the Washington Post article, was referencing the part of the IG report that said the use of the gun and the drill were “unauthorized.” This leads people to believe that “unauthorized” means "illegal", and it doesn't. When they say “unauthorized”, they aren't referring to DOJ legal guidelines. They are referring to CIA policy, which doesn't mean the law was broken.

.

What I have found is the loudest cheerleaders defending torture are invariably the ones who have never risked even getting a paper cut defending their country in real life. Most of them have never even served their country in the military.
They are the Dick Cheney's of these forums.....The "Keyboard Heroes" of the internet who are very brave sitting in their mother's home & yelling heroic BS the loudest.
In short, they are the lowest cowards that exist & just turn my stomach!:toilet:

Then those people will have very little to worry about from an investigation.

Really? Well, what I have found is the loudest cheerleaders defending terrorists are invariably the ones who have never risked even getting a paper cut defending their country in real life. Most of them have never even served their country in the military.

They are the Nacy Pelosi and Clinton's of these forums.....The "Keyboard Heroes" of the internet who are very brave sitting in their mother's home & yelling anti-soldier BS the loudest.

See how easy it is to spew hyperbolic BS on an internet forum?

By the way, did you serve your country and if so, what capacity?

Interesting page of info i thought I'd tack in here.

Torture Memos vs. Red Cross Report: Prisoners’ Recollections Differ from Guidelines - ProPublica

ICRC: Eight of the fourteen alleged they were deprived of solid food for periods ranging from three days to one month. This was often followed by a period when the provision of food was restricted and allegedly used as an incentive for cooperation. Two other detainees alleged that, whilst they were not totally deprived of food, food was provided intermittently or provided in restricted amounts.

ABU ZUBAYDAH: Mr. Abu Zubaydah alleged that in Afghanistan, during the initial period of two to three weeks while kept constantly sitting on a chair, he was not provided with any solid food, but was provided with Ensure (a nutrient drink) and water. After about two to three weeks be began to receive sold food (rice) to eat on a daily, once a day, basis. Approximately one month later, during a resumption of intense questioning he was again deprived of food for approximately one week and only given Ensure and water.

I think we need more quicker and thorough investigations on all this. When you have near starvation written in guidelines to where humans can lose considerable weight and relocation a part of the way things are then you have a NAZI mechanism. I'm not saying that is how it is operating right now but it has potential to be abused in such a way. We don't need people being shifted around like a gambling card until they wither away and end up becoming a "swine flu" case.

I think it is time to shine full light on our dark goings on.

Stop this crap TD. No one is defending terrorists. What we are defending is our country choosing to do what is right.

Let's look at these facts a little closer:

"Eight of the fourteen alleged "

"and allegedly used as an incentive"

"Mr. Abu Zubaydah alleged"

So what you are asking us to do is take the "allegations," to a Liberal organization like the ICRC, of confessed terrorists against the word of the honorable men and women of the armed forces and CIA and make baseless claims that they operated illegally.

Is that what you are attempting here? I'll ignore the attempts to equate these Government servants to Nazi's; it is hardly worthy of honest debate.

Stop what? You didn't have the same qualms with this statement?

No maybe these are token showoffs to get out into public a tactic that we use. Ever think that maybe techniques like this are used on people that aren't as valuable as these high up terrorists? That is why we all need to know exactly what we are doing. You don't have full monitorization because you are putting people in extremely controlled situations and delete tapes. That is hiding something. And if tapes get deleted then people need to get pissed and dig up some bones.

Hey TD. Note the award I have. Note that you don't have it. While I am not going to condone those other statements, they where, in reference to you more accurate, and not nearly as offensive to my mind is saying those against torture and the breaking of US laws are defending terrorists.

Moderator's Warning:
Trying to skirt around the rules by broadly attacking large portions of THIS forum specifically, but not naming them directly, isn't going to be a successful tactic. I'd suggest people refrain from such attacks in the future

Well hell, why don't we just share all our secrets with the American people and while we are at it hand over our CIA manuals to the terrorists so they can see exactly what their rights will be and how to avoid telling us **** in the future! :rofl
